No kills. Was interesting though. Had small doe come out then a big bodied spike. Watching them and I heard noise in the brush. Snorting like mad. Decided nothing to lose so tested out a few grunts at it. Sounded like it was storming around looking for me then jumped into the field. Grey looking doe. The three jogged into my shooting lane so I made a noise to stop them, which they did nicely, but just with a little brush close enough I didn't risk it (was the brush I had issues with before). For me it was a first using my grunt seemingly effectively so kinda cool. Woulda been nice getting a kill but experience was worth it. My cat followed out of the brush where the doe snorted so not sure if he caused that. Saw a different spot I may sit on the edge one of these times, on the way off there was a few coming through

Well, I had a nanny with two small yearlings come into 40 yards. She is lucky that there was a branch in my way or she would be in my fridge! Then I had two button bucks come to 100 yards and bed down. They stayed there for 2 hours then got up and walked off and crossed the river. I will be back out in the morning!

Well Zjohn I got promoted at work but it put me on 3-11 shift. My wife is at work and out of my four kids I have two moved out, one in college and one in Jr High so they are in school or gone. I have nothing else to do but get some tree therapy!

Well today was a really scary day. My stand was creaking a little bit so I reached down to tighten up the ratchet strap and with one crank my stand was then loose from the tree. I ended up bending the ratchet and thank god I had on my Hunter Safety System. Woot Woot! No fall but I did become a TREE HUGGER!!!! LOL What a scary moment! Here is the ratchet that I bent. I think maybe I should go easy on the lifting and working out.

So please be safe. My hunt was ended due to this happening. I lowered my bow since I felt unsafe and the next thing I know here is a doe and yearling at 40 yards with my bow swinging on the rope. They saw it then took off. I hope she comes back. If I was safe the doe would of been in the back of my truck!

It was a bit hairy! I then moved my stand to other side of tree since I had nothing else better to do. That way I am looking where the deer have been coming from. Cut down a couple limbs off tree and now I am good to go. Thinking of going in this afternoon but we will see.
