I am with Siman! Camps are cool. If I make it down to our cabin I will have to take pics of it too.

On an evening hunt in MO after Foggy or The Other Buck. Going to be hunting for 3 straight days. Hopefully I can get it done while this cold front is pushing through. Then it's off to IL for the first week of November.

Love the setup Derek, good luck on the bucks showing!

Im putting in a order with Pat for some new Coverts tomorrow, got a couple different farms that my buddies/brothers hunt that im gonna set em up on. I love the suspense that setting up cams in new places brings!

Didn't kill anything this evening but it was a great night. Foggy or The Other Buck didn't show up but a real nice 2.5 year old 8-point did along with 8 other deer (2 old does, 3 younger does and 3 fawns). Back at it again in the morning. Here are some screenshots from the LCD screen of my camera from this evening's hunt...

Wow that looks like a great night in the stand. If that buck stepped in front of me he would be getting a arrow. :tu: Good luck in the morning.

He might be a 3 year old. He reminds me of a buck I killed a couple years ago. Thought he was 3 with 130" headgear. Had him aged and he was a 2 year old. He was 126 or 128", can't remember. Would've been just over 130" had he not broke some stuff off. If this buck would've had 130" worth of bone, he probably would have been shot, because you're right, he does look older than two.

Back has a little sway, and he has a slight pot belly. My buck was for sure 2.5 and he was real sleek looking. But yours is obviously eating pretty good!

This is probably my favorite spot to hunt on our home farm. It's a little 1/4 acre plot surrounded by woods between two bedding areas and a standing corn plot to the south. Its a place you can sit all day. Bucks travel through checking doe beds and the does will come up for an afternoon snack. It's a really great spot. I have to force myself to not overhunt it.

Just an FYI...the first place team only has 1 buck down. The rest are all does. We need to slay some slickheads if we want to win this thing (Myself included)!

Way to hold out for a big one Derek. He sure looks tempting!!!

Ohio bit us in the a$$. The land we were on got over run with guys and someone took our T-cam! We pulled our Muddy's and headed back to Mi. I did pass on a 2 yo 8pt. He had 8" g2s but was only 13" +/- wide. My pal running the camera was late getting on him so footage wasn't great. He thought I should of shot him but I got the better look at him (10yds)

Your right Simon. I need to shoot a doe or two!

I wont be getting out this weekend it doesnt look like. Illinois has their homecoming game this saturday and then sunday I will be training in my first burn with the fire department. :tu: Im pretty excited for that since it will be my first time dealing with any sort of heat or smoke since I got on. For sure next week I will be out I will make it a priority to get out there.

After a bitter day of a few things just being headaches glad to see some good things on here. Decided to check one cam and set another back out today. For some reason got 12 pics on covert and batteries were drained from first day. Not too happy I held off checking for two weeks and only pics were of raccoon waddling past first day. Good amount of tracks in a few spots and some fresh rubs. Picked up a new stool yesterday so gonna try it for a ground sit tonight off that trail hopefully.
Looking forward to Dawgs story and pics. Good luck getting out today too.
Simon, curious to see your pics too, I have a feeling you've got something sweet

The DAWG had to stop by to say OOOOWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!! The dawg has knocked down a big nanny! She was shot at 13 yards and dropped at 31 yards. She also field dressed at 120 lbs! Will post pictures later. I just got done cutting her up now in for a shower then back at it in a different stand since I scented up the other area. It was on my new 5 acre place that I got her. Woot Woot! The DAWG is on the hunt again! Will talk tonight!
