Finally got my new bow! Had it sighted in after half a dozen shots. It feels like opener for me this weekend due to not having a bow last weekend. I can't decide if I want to take the red off the sight or leave it on. The stickers on the bow that say creed have a little red in them so no matter what there will be some red in there.

Dont be laying it down now! We have a lot of blood to spread on the ground yet!

Don't worry dawg, it was sighted in after half a dozen shots but I probably put 30 arrows threw it. It will be up the tree with me this weekend. This will be the first I have laid eyes on a food plot I planted up there. Buddy sent me a pic 6 days after I planted it and the clovers where coming in great. So I have high hopes that deer have been hitting it, just have to sit and see if the right one steps out on it.

Other then a few of us who are lucky enough to be in season, most you guys start the weekend after this coming one right?

I guess I should have realized that next Saturday would not be October 1st.. I was thinking in the terms of MN laws where all seasons open on Saturdays.

    Nice looking bow MN!

I just got myself a new setup as well. I think she's ready! Robinhood at 20. Only the second time I've done that.

Checked one of my cameras behind my house yesterday. I think I've got a new buck on my home farm in MO...

    I don't think he's this buck...

The second pic, I believe, is a 4 year old 9 point that I will definitely shoot if given the chance. I can't see the g4 on the right side of the first pic, he looks like a straight 8. The g2's look different in the two pics as well. The deer in the first pic also looks like a 3 year old to me. Normally, I won't shoot a 3 year old unless he's on our home farm. This farm borders I-55 and every year there is a good buck hit by a car. So, a 3 year old with pretty good head gear (130's and decent mass) will catch an arrow. He looks a little spindly in the picture but he's moving and he's far enough away that it makes it hard to tell. I'll have to see him in person and it will be a game time decision.

Here are a couple nice young bucks running around...

Not sure how much I'm going to be able to hunt over the next two weeks. My wife leaves for training on Monday for a new job and will be out of town in Salt Lake City, UT for 18 days. I've got three kids (10, 8 and 5) on my own. My in-laws are coming down to help me out for one week though, so I might be able to get out then. Shouldn't be a big deal though. I should be good for a doe within a few hunts and hopefully between MO and IL, I'll get a crack at a nice buck this November.

    Good luck to y'all!

Good update DD. Those are some good looking deer. I was looking at that lineup of bows pretty hard, I get a good deal on everything from the bow madness and down through work. If I could have gotten the good deal on the Evo I probably would have done it.

Will he leaving early enough this afternoon to hopefully get in an evening sit over the food plot. A good cold front is moving in today so it should be a good weekend. Highs in the fifties!! Bucks only this weekend due to the zone I am in. One deer hunters choice so I would burn my buck tag if I shot a doe.

Good luck in the morning soggy, get us that 50 on your doe hunt.. And hope a shooter walks by!

I just stopped at MC Sports and dropped a boatload of money. They had all of last years camo on sale in the $20-$30 range. Naturally i had to buy a few outfits. I also picked up some new rubber boots, Lacrosses, and a ladder stand for the new 140 acre property i got permission for.

I might have to go check out my local store then. I just spent a lot in the last couple days too. I ordered a new badlands pack, a mount for my camera arm that attaches to my climber, a new retractable haul line, straps from LW to hold my pack and climber together then finally new broad heads.

I now have everything I need for the opener, just need to organize it all.
