Thats a fergie clause buck, not a doe.

Congrats Turro! 50 points for the team and you can get 50 more with a doe. Great job getting us started!!

(Do you need me to enter it on the scorecard or are you going to do it?)

If you want to enter it that works. I gotta head out in a few min to continue looking for my buddys. I'll probably take a few days to catch up on some things and let the deer settle before getting out again. Wasn't exactly what I was planning for, but the fresh tenderloins and heart for lunch today will be tasty.

My fault I guess I should read a little better. Either way you got some points for the team. I just wish I could get out there. The weather is slowly starting to cool down here.

Kinda worked out to be a good day tracking my buddy's deer. Followed nice blood for a few hundred yards. Quite a bit over that distance and surprised hadn't stayed down yet. I heard a bunch of birds making tons of noise so I told him to stay on the blood and on a guess I'd see if they found it for us. Sure enough I found it a hundred yards or so from where I left him to check it. It was ripped up pretty good from the birds. He wasn't sure how the meat would be so I salvaged what I could that he didn't want, and did pretty well considering how it was. I've done roadkill ones way worse than that. It was a cool night so kept it nice. A few hours of processing and a tasty heart for dinner. Last one I had processed, but I'd say got more and better meat this way.

Project now is seeing how I can do myself with a euro mount and tan the hide. I figured I'd experiment with this one so if I fail it wasn't on a monster, but I have faith it will come out at least alright which would be nice for my first bow deer. My buddy got into hydrodipping so thinking orange with camo or snow camo or something. He wants to test on a skull anyway. Then I'll be set for doing on a shooter

Figured I'd have to take my few moments before my beast is overthrown. Got a nice pile of meat from it so now ready to focus on getting something big, even though it wont count the same on here.
Good luck for the early doe season. Should be a perfect chance to fill the freezer and get some more on the board. I ordered up some killzones to give a try last night. Kinda wanting to test a handful of different broadheads. I used rage 2 chisels on the deer. Nice passthrough but didn't hit bones or anything, left an awesome blood trail a blind man could see. Blades were getting knocked around a bit sitting in the brush, but before shooting I just double checked. Used the toxic on my bear and thought it went great. My buddy got great blood trail from it too, not sure how it did on the bones, didn't get passthrough and couldn't tell after critters busted it up before we found it. Looking forward to trying killzones. Quite a favorite on the site. Others I want to try are rage hypodermics, probably for next year.
