    Checking in.

Here are a few of the deer I'll be after in MO and IL.

Foggy Buck :Videoed him in a bean field right next to my house after an evening rain here in MO.

Here are a few IL bucks I'll be after. The first one's really good!

Hard to see in the picture, but the second deer is pretty good.

I've got four more cameras in IL that I need to check. Might do that tomorrow if I get a chance.

Awesome pics there DD. Up until a few days ago I did not have the privilege of using trail cams, the land owner was against them for some reason. I got permission to hunt another farm in wisconsin a few days ago and he was all for the trail cams, I would be a very happy guy if I get some pics like that here in the next few weeks.

Those are some sweet deer. I've got nothing that would look better than a spike next to those beasts. Should be checking camera in a few days to see what's been around. I know I've got a wide 8 and nice 9 (by my standards), and a few buddies said they saw another 8 around too. I know there'll be some decent ones around, but nothing record breaking. Hoping to add something for the team

Thats kinds odd but hey...landowner is landowner.

Im a trail camers junkie myself (insert my shameless DLC Covert pro staff plug here!). I run cams 24/7 and enjoy it almost as much as hunting.

    I agree..

He said he considered it cheating, and that he wont even fish with a depth finder. I am lucky enough to be able to glass from a distance with a spotting scope so I can inventory whats in the area though. Now that I do have land that I can run cameras on I think I am going to get addicted to it like you are. I put out 2 coverts and 1 primes in Wisconsin and am pretty jacked up to go check them in three weeks to make my plan of attack for the opener the following weekend.

I used to be a trail can junkie. But I really only run cams on the properties I own in MN. Now that I live 2 hours away in another state I don't make it back much to check them. I will check them sometime this week though. This year I bought a cheaper trail can and have been running it on several public land spots around me in SD but haven't had much luck other then does and small bucks.

Little further south then I have been. Used to do some goose hunting up around Montevideo and Watson but that's about it for western MN for me.

Ill be moving from NY to IL in Oct, so I'm not really sure where I'll be hunting yet. Had a few generous offers in IL so I'm sure Ill get out, I'm really looking forward to hunting Midwest whitetails for the first time.

He's in Fairfield County which must be a pretty good area. He's slayed some good deer off his farm. I'm going to try to hunt up there with him next year.

You guys can fight it out on the captain deal. It doesn't matter to me either way so long as it's not me.

I would like to be captain but I am willing to let some of you that have never been captain have a chance to be involved. I was a shed captain this year so if there is someone that has not been a captain I am willing to let you have it. Everyone knows that the Shed Hunting is my strong point!
