No shooters on cam, but we did get about 800 pics of deer over three weeks so I will take that, had a little basket 8 point and a 8 or a 10 (cant tell if he has brows or not) He needs another year in my book. Here is a few pictures of him. I am pretty sure the third picture is the same deer. (the first two pics are the wrong time and date) I don't know why the date and time was off, I had it set right on the other covert. IMAG0055.jpg IMAG0056.jpg PRMS0214.jpg

Teaching some gun safety to kids today. Here's to hoping they all pass and I don't get shot!

Turro...must have missed your post. Congrats on the bear! Sorry about the cams failing.

Have you talked to Pat here about them?

    Thank ya
Still catching up on getting to know everyone. I knew someone was on here to check with, but got the covert sent in the mail right away and the Bushnell should have a replacement in a few days with return box for it. Hopefully will be able to get at least a second camera up soon for some deer pics. Frustrated but I'll survive about not getting the bear shot, woulda been sweet.
Hopefully just getting my bad luck out of the way, third trophycam in the year should be the lucky one ...

Congrats on the bear and that is a way to keep that money rolling in Caleb! I have worked doubles for the past 4 days and the boss just called again to offer me two more tomorrow and Monday. I turned down tomorrow since my baby turns 12 tomorrow. Just a FYI fellas! I think I have retained my honey hole for one more year. I dont expect to have it next year so I am still on the hunt. I have to talk to the nephew about the property yet but he said I am in for this year. I think they are going to cut me off of one area though since a family member wants to hit that spot too. We will see. I hope he just wants to tell me to stay away until the campers are gone. I do that every year anyhow. I will keep you all in the loop since we are going to be the WINNING team. My hole should be a good one this year and cant wait to put up trail cams to see what is in the property. I hope it goes well!

Here's another picture of my bear. Favorite one so far. Only ate it once almost 20 years ago and loved it, and still do. Gotta say its even tastier yet having put my arrow into it

Turned out better than I remembered. Tender, tasty, with the only unpleasant feeling of not enough to have it often til next season. Had to make it a treat meal and dug up some purple potatoes, garlic, and onions from the garden.

Tons of people have horrible stories of how their bear came, and I have only had great experience with it. It was a clean kill, small bear, kept meat clean and cool and got to cooler at processer within 3 hours of letting the arrow fly. Not sure if it was all that leading to great taste or what. This will not be my last one

I have to say its well worth it. You'll love it for sure. Maybe its my obsessing getting into the sport now and all or just baiting and checking cams every day and being that involved that made it a lot more enjoyable, plus they're awesome creatures . The person I got the bait from said he's been doing it for 30 years and loved deer, but first time hunting bear he was really hooked, I gotta say I'm set on doing it as a regular now too

When does everyone's deer hunting start? Ours is coming up this weekend. Anyone else soon? Seeing a few with kills is picking up the anticipation

Oct 1st here as well. I need to get to the state park and finish my work hours there to be able to hunt it. It is a earn a buck so hopefully i will have a doe on the ground pretty quick. Im heading back home to for a wedding on the 20th so I will check my cameras then. They will have been out for a month then. I hope the bucks stick to their routine for a little while longer.

I hope I cant put down some solid points for the team this year. If I shoot a buck he may not be the biggest but it will be my first and It would be great to share that with everyone here. If im lucky enough I will get it all on video and make it even better. :tu:

I'm hoping to add some points too but definitely wont be biggest. I've got some decent ones out just no monsters. I was pumped this morning to look out the bathroom window to part of the field exiting right past my number one stand and see two that should be 110 or so walking right where I want them and during shooting hours. If they can repeat in a few days there's a good chance for a great opener. They're all still in velvet too, getting one like that would be awesome. One of my goals for hunting career
