Go get em Jim, I'll be headed to my farm tomorrow bout noon to hunt the afternoon and all day Sunday. I'm hoping with most all of the crops out in the area my food plots will see more action. And the turnips should be sweetening up with all of the cold weather lately.

    Congrats Jim Nice Doe!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Good Luck Dan on killing BILL / I Love the Names of your BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!:D

    2nd Archery Season starts 12/26/09 til 01/09/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i was able to save 2 out of 3 tags during rifle season. I had several oppt at killing several does with my rifle but i passed. The times that i seen a legal buck i had my kids with me and they have tags for a bucks only and i wanted them to shot. But they even came up empty.

My wife asked me yesterday what was wrong with the great hunter, usually you (I) kill at leasst one deer with my bow and i haven't done it yet.

I have only hunted a day or two in the 2nd season, here in the North, we get alot of snow 200+ inches a year,

Way to go Jim nice nanny.

Good luck in IL Dan. I saw a few deer this weekend, but all does and too far away for any shots.

    Chris,
Depending on the weather, maybe someplace sheltered where they can get out of the wind and snow, pines or ceders or maybe the sheltered side of a hill. Good luck late season.

Had a blow dealt to the IL trip over the weekend. My my truck wouldn't start and we have to take mine so we can pull the 5th wheel back. Got it in today and it took them a bit to figure it out, but it looks like it will be ready late tomorrow morning. Going to miss the evening sit, but at least we'll make it!

Something was draining the batteries and killed one and the other has a short. I don't know squat about vehicles, so you know as much as I do! HA!

On a serious side note.....I just got a call from Johnny. He was on his way to the ER as his GF got in a car accident. That's as much as I know at thie present time.

Now, Mr. Brasky is the least of my worries.

Just so there is no confusion, It's not my girlfriend, it's Dan's friend Johnny Miller's girlfriend. I am John Mueller.:)

Well I'm headed to the farm again for the weekend trying to get a buck down. But I have a request from a guy at work if a big old doe comes by, his freezer could use a little more meat. So I may be nanny whacking too.;)

I may even have a little snow on the ground come morning.:)

Yes sir, Johnny "Miller" Herrmann. She is doing well and had surgery today to piece her wrist back together.

Good luck this weekend John and send me a text! I have to live vicariously through everyone else it seems this year, as time has not been on my side to do any hunting for the last month. I'm hoping to get at least a sit or two in before Christmas.....unless Jill goes into labor!

I had to head back early last night, after the evening hunt I got back to my trailer and there was a strong propane smell in it. I didn't trust spending the night there so I packed up and headed home.

I might head back to hunt this evening tho. We got about 2 inches of snow and I found a good trail leading to my food plot. I set up about 70 yards off of it and about 15 yards downwind of the trail. Well the deer decided to make a new trail 50 yards farther up wind. 7 does came strolling by headed to the plot at about 4:00. One of them eventually started feeding on browse my direction. She was headed straight for my tree. She got to 15 yards straight on and looked up at me, I was frozen still 18 feet up in Predator Camo, but she got spooky anyhow. She turned and bounded back 30 or so yards and turned and stared for 5 minutes then just walked off.

Later I saw a good buck walking through the woods about 100 yards away. I tried to grunt him closer, but he acted like he never heard me. Then I saw 3 more deer moving through a good ways off, not sure what they were.

That's the most action I've seen in a while, so I may have to get back out there tonight.
