Well, Saturday's Am hunt went not as planed. It was real slow. PT arrivied on time and after the greeting a plan was discussed and then we set out on this plan. We went to an acorn flat. We arrived well before daylight and we sitting in the tree when day light arrived. it started slow a opussium showed then a squirrel and then a couple of chickmunks. I had just sent PT a text sking if had seen anything and told him what i saw. he sent a text back with his results. I then had looked away from the one direction and when i turned around a cought momment 65 -70 yards away. 2 fawns and a "PIG" of a Doe. They were feeding on acorns, appears to be heading my way. She turned and went towards PT, So i turned around and looked the opposite direction. PT sent me a Text that he had seen a Doe and a fawn, as i turned around to get my phone she caught me move and blew and bolted away. I screwed up

28 yards when i turned back around.
    I SUCK

Other than that it was great to return to the tree, bow in hand

Well it rained almost the entire weekend. Saturday morning I hunted an hour south from where I live and I saw a fox. Saturday evening I was in a tree at my buddy's place and it was lightly raining, I saw a bobcat. Poured rain Sunday morning so it was a no go, but yesterday evening found me in the same tree and I had 2 doe and 2 yearlings come in. We don't have a very big population of deer on this place, so doe's get to walk for a couple more years

3rd sit of the season, and finally had deer in sight. A four point and a yearling. A little exciting, nothing I'm interested in, but it was still a blast to finally have deer in range again. Weather tomorrow is iffy (HIGH winds and rain), I may be sitting it out. We'll see.

Always nice to at least see deer Matt.

My next hunt will be this weekend with mobow at my place. It just might be time to put 50 points on the board if the opportunity presents itself.:) With Don there at least I'll have help to drag one out of the hollow.

Of course he may beat me to it if one walks by him first.:D

I have had some bad news come my way, my mother lives with my wife and I, well she wasn't feeling very well ( poor health to begin with) We take my mother to the Hospital ER on sunday there she was sent to another Hospital (better Hospital) and she was placed into ICU there. I haven't had any time to hunt since SAT in the AM with PT. Other pressing issues.

Come to find out she had a small Heart Attack, she is doing better and has been taken out of ICU and placed into a regular room. As she looks better the News is not very good, she has a small hole in her heart, and she is not strong enough to have any surgery ( her poor health).

Between work and hospital visits no time for hunting.

    :(

Sorry to hear about your mother Chris.

John, be sure to whack one and make Don do the dragging!

Good luck Jim and everyone else!

Johnny and I are heading down to IL Friday morning, but depending on what we see, we may not be there long. Its looking like our property may be a big doe bedding area and prime for the rut. If we're seeing a bunch of does, we'll head back up here to WI to hunt for awhile.

    Hey fellas,

Normally I am on more and I will try to get back in the swing of things now that season is in. I bowhunted last Sat(our opener) and saw a couple of does and a couple dozen turkeys but all in all it was hot and the action was slow. I shotgun hunted with my son a couple of evenings in the county I live in(gun season comes in before bow here) and saw a doe the first sit and got skunked the second. I honestly haven't been really pumped until today, I get to hunt Friday p.m, all day Saturday, come back home to work a bar shift Sunday afternoon and night, then back to the woods Monday and Tuesday. The weather is supposed to be hot Fri (high 83) but start cooling off Sunday pm and the highs Mon/Tues are supposed to be about 15-20 degrees cooler with lows in the upper 40's so I'm pretty pumped about that. No big expectations even though I am confident in the stands I have hung, mainly just looking forward to getting to bowhunt a couple days in a row.

I'll keep you posted and good luck to you guys.

A doe and two fawns at twenty yards all evening. We aren't killing any doe's out there, but I will when I go to Oklahoma this weekend!

I'm looking to kill my first out of state deer this weekend:) (I've killed one in Mississippi, but it was with my truck:mad:)

Ok Team, hold down the fort. Me and Dan will be in IL this weekend looking to lay down some points. I will shoot a doe this weekend if I get the opp. which should be no problem. Time to get on the board.

For some reason the deer sightings were a little slow this weekend. We should have slept in for the morning hunts, never saw a deer in the AM. But this isn't too unusual for my farm, evenings are better. I did see some deer but never had one in range.

Mobow took a shot at a doe just as she winded him and took off. From all of the evidence he hit her in the tail and only hit hair. Saturday evening he saw a nice buck cross my food plot at about 100 yards. He thinks it may go 140".

Dan was flooded out of one farm, so they went to another lease. They hung some stands one day and not sure how the hunts went.

Forgot to add they had 6.5 inches of rain in the area.
