A long ways. I'm on the far western side of Ontario, camp actually sits 12 miles from the Manitoba border. Its a 1 hour drive north of Kenora, which is on the north shore of Lake of the Woods.

Here's the coordinates to camp, if you want to look it up on Google Earth or something. Though, it looks a bit different now, as we've built a few more cabins, new docks and eliminated the campground.

    N 50 01' 40"
    W 94 53' 38"

Our bow opener is the 3rd as well so I plan on being in a tree real soon. I'm supposed to be off Monday as well but if the temps stay in the 80's I may cancel that vac. day and wait a week or two for some better weather.

    Good luck everyone.

    What to do?

SSW winds are no good for the property i hunt on, I usually stay out however i have PT coming down 2 hrs. to hunt and its the first day. Any suggestions.

I have no avenues of approach from the north or northeast???????????

This sucks, May just try it though

I only got out Saturday morning. Besides a flock of turkeys, I was skunked. Boy, was it GREAT to be back in a tree, though. Can't say there's many other places I would rather be. Getting back out tomorrow in the evening and hopefully all week.

Well I'm back from my looong opening weekend of hunting. I could have had us 50 points on 4 different occasions but didn't want to ruin a possible buck encounter. As is turns out the only buck encounters I had were all "Fergie clause " candidates. Now I know why I get pics of this same spike on one side fork on the other side buck all the time. There are 3 of the little suckers.:D I saw all of them together on Friday evening.

No sightings of any shooter bucks.
