Feels like bow hunting weather here today. 59 and overcast skies with a little bit of dampness in the air.

Hey guys let's try and finish this post up so we all have our start dates on one post. Makes it so easy to know when everyone starts hunting.

How many of y'all will be hunting opening day. I for one will be. Haven't missed an opening day in like 20+ years. That day we had the remnants of a hurricane blowing through and I just waited til the next day.

Better late than never, but definitely Life at full draw. Sorry for the late response, been a lil busy since we’ve got 15 folks in town for dove opener and I’ve been a little busy cutting down grass in all the non-sunflower areas to make it a lil easier to find downed birds.

Kind of necessary since most of my buddies are bringing their 1-2 year old puppies out for their first hunt and my dog is about useless as a hunting dog (he is scared ****less when it comes to guns thanks to the fact that his previous people shot him in the ass with buckshot and in the side with birdshot)

Basically all we got this weekend is baby Labrador retrievers and middle age human retrievers. Human retrievers sense of smell ain’t worth a **** for finding birds and all the baby labradors wanna do is chew up sticks so basically we need really short grass if we’re going to find any birds.

Just give me 3 days and then I’ll be back in deer mindset.

I know Siler city. West of Jordan lake down 64. My wife’s grandparents lived in pittsboro for a while.
I’m in Raleigh. I mostly hunt Public land in the surrounding area.

I planted sunflowers and we (bro, nephew, and my long-time turk hunting partner) had an outstanding hunt 9/2. Dove season always marks the break from the fishing season to the hunting season!

Ha, when I set up cameras the other day and took the .22, I realized quickly that I should have grabbed a shot gun, doves were flying everywhere. You guy putting me in a dove mood today

I usually try to catch them still and use an air rifle, I don't like picking out shot

Going to check a couple cams today. May be posting up some pics later of some shed velvet, or hopefully another new buck or two.

    He's back and he's a beast. The buck I named Eye Guard! I'm guessing he'll gross 160-170! Maybe even more, what do you all think? 20210904_125447.jpg 20210904_125340.jpg 20210904_124929.jpg 20210904_124906.jpg 20210904_124830.jpg 20210904_124754.jpg 20210904_124734.jpg
