So if anybody wants a nice reminder of how lucky all of us are to be hunters you should swing by the grocery and walk down the meat aisle. In my area regular ribeyes that aren’t even “behind the counter” grade just crossed the $40/pound threshold and a pound of 70/30 hamburger will set you back $10.
Saw spike and a four point dueling, I need to dive down to holler level next Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting .com Forums
Holy chit! I botched yesterday at 5 49lb for 80/20. Been rel slow here the past 4 days. Like REAL SLOW... Been way to warm but starting tomarro, rain n snow coming. Should get the deer moving.
$5.49 is a deal. That’s cheap enough to almost justify renting a reefer truck and starting a interstate hamburger smuggling business.
Warm front just kicked in here today. Not gonna cool back down for us southeasterners until this Saturday.
In fact, it’s so damn hot here that opening the windows weren’t helping. I had to stick a fan in the window to get it below 75 degrees (I am a bit of a cheap scape and I refuse to switch the thermostat from fetus back to air conditioning after mid October)
Up early I’ve been putting off turning over my Texas license but I need to be local now, getting that done this ,morning then hunting tonight! Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting .com Forums
If you are talking about changing residency then you might wanna consider purchasing a lifetime hunting license before you do. If you think there is a decent chance you will hunt in that state more than once or twice in the future then it might be worthwhile. In most states a lifetime resident hunting license is usually about the same price as 2-3 non-resident annual licenses and as long as you get it while you are a resident, it will usually still remain valid even after you move out of state and become a non-resident. I’ve got my VA and NC lifetime and its totally worth it (although I currently still live in NC so I would only pay cheaper resident fees, but even then it’s still a pretty good bargain and if I ever move then it’ll be a really great deal) Virginia lifetime hunting license: $265 Virginia non-resident annual hunting license:$111 NC lifetime sportsman license (includes big game privileges): $265 NC non-resident annual license + big game privilege: $100+$100=$200 total
Passed up a gorgeous 4x4 this morning. Guessing 4 year old. Big body but there are 2 others that trip ,y trigger. Not alot of deer movement last 5 days which is odd but cooler weather coming. Should help.
Went to the bottom of the holler yesterday, nothing moving, mainly right at dusk only, on cams. On another mote getting invaded by lady bugs, Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting .com Forums
A deluge of rain is about to hit here. Well it's suppose to stop a couple hours before daylight, so I'm going to find myself in the tree tomorrow morning. Anyone else out there with me tomorrow?
Guys, just giving you all a heads up. Fish may be absent for awhile. His wife has suddenly been hospitalized with a life threatening illness. Let's give him our prayers and send him encouragement. I don't know you guys personally, but we all seem like a great bunch of guys here. Thanks for being a great team!
Thanks Shawn. I did sit tonight but right after I got in my stand I got a text from a best friend's wife saying he was 8n the er, brain clot. My mind was not at all in the "hunt" Best wishes fly
Dang, that sucks. We need a win team. I know I don't really feel right about talking about putting a deer down, but we need a win. We've had bad news at one point or another from just about all of us. Time for a win and some good news for once. Prayers to you all and best wishes and for those of us who can get out and hunt, good luck. Let's give this team a lift and win in more ways than one!!!!!
