Anyone hunting this evening? I'm going out before the deluge of rain hits. Hopefully deer will be moving!

Hey everyone, hope all is well! Haven’t sat since the trespasser and cameras have been slow. I also started school back. Tennessee has juvenile this weekend, then it’s one more week of bow season before muzzleloader. I’ll be hunting hard that week before muzzleloader.

I did make it out this evening.
Wasn't planning on it but had time.
Lots of activity but the deer were acting real skittish. (Coyotes/ bear)?
I had about 30 minutes left but had to bail, a #2 was about ready to let loose:sad:.
1/2 way down my stand, I seen a 2 year old 8 staring at me from the bank of the river. He didn't spook and actually FOLLOWED me back to the cabin. His hormones must be off the charts.

I sat in a funnel on Base this afternoon -I didn't see anything on the stand, but did see a shooter following a doe on my drive out...

    Great sit this evening.
I seen about a 140" 10 and a quick glance at another that looked bigger out the back window of the cabin this morning
.neither of the 2 bigger ones were seen tonight but the young bucks were chasing hard.
Purty good year so far. I think I've sat 13 times now and could have shot deer everytime but one where I didn't even see a deer.
Unseanally warm here, but starting tomorrow, cooler weather is coming. Bigger bucks will be moving soon.

The 140ish on a scrape this morning 60 yards from my back window. 20211029_081136.jpg

Well guys, seems like our thread is about as slow as the hunting has been lately. Teams are slowly creeping up on us. I know these next couple weeks we will put some deer down and hopefully move back on top where we belong. The first week of November looks pretty awesome weather wise here in Ohio at least. Most day time highs in the 40's and over night lows in the 30's with a couple nights in the upper 20's. Good luck to all! Let's get'er done!!!!!

I've said it before, team or not, I'm gonna shoot what I want.
I have 2 doe tags but where I do the huge majority of my hunting, it's a 1 deer area. Back home I can shoot 2 does (and mostly will).
Hell, I showered up today but wind was strong n swirly.
I have a penthouse I built about 12 years ago, totally insulated and enclosed smack dab in the middle of my property. I built it for kids n guests to sit in during gun season.
I decided to sit in it tonight which I never do.
Climbed in but the windows were so Dusty and dirty I said eff it (I really didn't "feel"it ton8ght)
Walked back to the cabin, cracked a beer n cranked the tunes up.
All be damned if 6 does n 1 fawn didn't come close enuff too shoot. They couldn't care less about the music. Walked behind my truck and started eating in my pumpkin plot right out the door. I did lock n load just in case but no big bucks showed up.
I've only seen 1 big buck in range of my cabin in 12 years but quit a few younger bucks. But if the mature does are starting to feel this comfortable, I won't feel bad missing a sit in a stand because it "could happen"
Wind looks good for a new stand 8 hung last week for the a.m.
Then I'll most likely give it a 5 day break and then go all in starting next friday.

I sat in a funnel on Base and had two 8'ers (110-120ish) pass thru. My partner saw one of the herd bulls (160ish) but never had a shot opp. Lots of activity reports from my other buds. I need to find my lucky horseshoe...

Had a good sit this morning. Saw 6 deer. One was a 120 +/- with a pretty good limp. Then 2, year and a half olds came in. Also had a button buck and a doe fawn come by.

Sorry for being MIA. My family had Covid and we are on the recover. I haven’t been able to hunt at all for the past couple weeks but each day my family gets more energy and I get closer to sneaking away for a hunt!

I hope it goes well for you and family Cowboy!

I sat in a favored spot on Base this morning. Two modest 8's passed close by.

Deer were on the move this evening. Had a pretty nice 2 year old come to my grunt call, and 3 young bucks, along with a couple buttons. Who's with me in a stand in the morning? Good luck!!!!!

My next time on stand will most likely be Friday eve.
Got some window to get in this week. Promised the people.
Our firearm season opens Saturday for 9 days.
I try to be at the cabin to stiffle trespassers. Plus, it my favorite week to be in a tree.
