Just got back to the cabin.
One hour turned into 2 hours. Was covered up in deer!.
Had a dandy at 15 yards but even 5 minutes passed shooting light, I just could not determine what he was so I passed.
I tend to hunt thicker cover and that's the price I pay. Young bucks really feeling randie this morning.
    Great sit.

I think I will be able to get out of the office and have a sit this afternoon. I am hoping I can get out early enough that I can throw my climber on my back and do a little scouting in an area of the property I haven't throughly explored and try out a new spot. Possibly bring a couple cell cams along with me too in case I come across anywhere else that looks promising while I am out there since I still have a pair of ladder stands and a hang-on that are just sitting in the shed collecting rust. I had some loggers come in and do some selective timbering on that property 2 years ago and the spots where those stands were located all suffered from changes in deer patterns following the logging. I pulled them down in the spring to relocate them but I haven't figured out any good spots to put them yet. They're calling for some rain Friday so it would be really nice to find a new spot for a couple of those and get in to set up and clear shooting lanes ahead of the rain so it can help wash my scent away.

If I can't get out fairly early then I probably won't hunt tonight. We have had this same NW wind since last Wednesday and I only have 4 stands that work for it so I have hunted each of them at least twice in the past week and I think I am getting pretty close to blowing those spots out if I don't stop hunting them so often.

Looks like that old seven has been wearing out a lot of things lately. Do you still call it a neck when it gets that big?

Well crap, I'm here, mays well sit this eve.
Only have one stand for n.e.wind and it's a ***** to get too.
Basically gotta get on the river bank (waters edge). All kinds of prickly stuff to get through.
    Oh well....

Declare you hate drunks, racist, women ect.
    You will be excused.
Not the "right"thing to do but.
It's a privilege for sure and damn glad we have it but for someone that has bills to pay and needs their paycheck, a drawn out trial can be a huge upset.

Or just tell em you are on (Team 17) and we need POINTS.
    That'll do it:evilgrin:

Took two days off of deer vacation to spend time with the kids and wife. I’ll be back out tomorrow. Deer have been moving. Nothing big.
