What else can you ask for? Smoking meats and a little scouting sounds like a good day to me. You've convinced me to go out and get a brisket for the weekend. I have a lot of stuff to do so I will be using the pellet instead of the stick burner. Don't judge me. HEHEHE
Those are on my pellet grill. Ive had them all and I swear this thing cooks more even than anything Ive had in the past. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m going to finish butchering that doe tonight so won’t be hunting but maybe get out in the morning. Picked up a new meat mixer that attaches to my grinder over the summer so looking forward to trying it out for the first time. The days of cold ass frozen hands covered in beef fat are over for me.
I sat on an oak flat this afternoon - white oaks were raining acorns. I had a spike come through, paying my dues.... -fsh
Didn't get as much done as I wanted today. Put the finishing touches on some plots and went deep into county land. I was there way too late but it almost worked out. Bumped one and sure enough he came back 30 minutes later. I was in the bedding but couldn't get a shot. Not sure exactly what he was but a shooter for sure. They are hammering acorns in Wisconsin right now. Praying for rain to help my plots and wash my stank off the county land.
Sounds like rain coming tonight and tomorrow. It is Pumpkin Fest tomorrow so you know it's going to rain Sent from my SM-N986U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Any luck tonight? I went west by rock dam. I was way too late though. Did you stick to your plan or call an audible? I will unfortunately be at pumpkin fest rain or shine.
I decided to take a couple hour nap. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon. Not sure where yet. Will be in Eau Claire all morning and early afternoon. Sent from my SM-N986U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
On and off rain forecasted here today. Should be a good afternoon! Sent from my SM-N986U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I sat in another white oak grove on the Navy Base this afternoon. My only entertainment was a bald eagle that landed on a branch 30 yds away and dined on a gray squirrel - until I tried to get him on camera. On a brighter note, I took my #2 tracker (Amber) on a lost blood trail this morning, and she successfully tracked the gut shot doe 200+yds. -fsh
Ended up spending the day with a couple friends so didn't get out. Always tomorrow Sent from my SM-N986U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Hey guys, I know you may be waiting for cooler weather to get a buck, but we can pile up some points if we all whack a doe. I know you are all capable so get out there and get these does in your freezers then you can set your strategies and get yourself a big boy!!!!! Good luck!!!!!
Ive got two more weeks of my sons cross country then my weekends will be open but I plan on getting out and busting one very soon. Been hanging cameras all weekend so thats all done but a couple stragglers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sorry for the lack of input lately. I'm having a hard time with my tablet the past week? Weatherman lied. It's now a 6 day forecast 70_near 80. Aint gonna go sit in that!
Didn't make it out this weekend due to various commitments in the evenings and a significant hangover Sunday morning. I did manage to get my the last of my fall food plots planted though. I might make it out for an evening hunt this afternoon.
