    Well guys, the shot looked good, arrow looked good, but I haven't found a single drop of blood. When I hit him he was running hard with his tail tucked but no blood anywhere other than on my arrow. I know it's difficult trying to find a blood trail in grass though.

    Reevaluating the situation. It was a 10 to 15 yard shot. I'm thinking I hit high. You know that space between the spine and the lungs. I looked in every possible direction for blood and didn't find a single drop anywhere. Looked at the arrow again and I think my thinking is right on. Chunks of muscle but no real good blood. 20210925_092254.jpg

    Great job on the doe Mongo!!!!! That puts us in a 1st place tie. I'm back in now. I'm going to go back out in the late afternoon. I cleaned that arrow off and found it had a lot of fatty tissue on it. I'm thinking that buck is still alive. I could be wrong but all the signs are pointing to that. It was this buck right here. Good job Mongo.
    To bad on the buck shawn but that looks like a low brisket hit.

    Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. I hate those first shots every year. I mean I usually take out a doe every opening day, but when you have one of your target bucks right there then screw up like that it really pisses me off. That was a 10 to 15 yard broadside shot that I can practically make in my sleep and yet I screwed it up. This evening is a new hunt and I'm looking to kill something, but no does tonight. So hopefully one of those bucks show up and this time I will whack em!!!!!

    Nerves brother, it happens to all of us. I'm ******* hammered right now. Like a viking man. Hammering wine after a successful hunt. You've got alot of great bucks on camera. You'll get it. Kickers will live. You will get one later on man. You'd all laugh if you seen me now. I look like an amateur. Send a prayer to cernunnos, let's kill some more deer. You all got this ****! Let's paint all the wood and fields red. We can't let team 12 do it again. I'll recover, and see if I can get some antler point for us
    But that's going to he a minute, as I am puking like I'm 12 again
    @bucksnbears let get em!
