So I was out checking a couple cams and I was wondering when they would start to open this scrape up again. Well I've got my answer. Last Saturday this scrape was still grass covered. Now it's beginning to open up. Last year they tore this up so bad and the licking branches above were basically all tore down and just ripped to shreds. So this spring I pulled a nice branch down from up above and low and behold they have a nice new licking branch. Can't wait to see what they do to this scrape this year. The one picture you can see my ladder stand in the background. Its right at about 25 yards.
Going through pictures now. I'll post any good ones later. Anyone see anything today? If y'all wait til next weekend, I'm going to be drawing first blood, lol!!!!!
Well last Saturday as a bust. My family is headed down to the beach this week so I won’t be hunting any this weekend or week. I’m hoping by next week it’ll start cooling down. I found one of my earliest rubs in a new spot that I scouted last week. So hoping to try that area in the up coming weeks. I’ll post pictures of the fish I pull in at the beach! Here's a few interesting pics from today. 2 of my shooters are showing themselves pretty much in legal light both morning and evening still. Almost everyday. The buck knocking horns with kickers is a 2.5 year old with great potential. I know his daddy though and daddy is on the hit list.
He will be a dandy for my son to shoot. I thats what Im hoping happens. Would love to see him kill him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Great pics Shawn. Good luck to your boy Josh! First hunt of the season, and I sat near a magic oak (lone white oak raining acorns with lots of deer poop around) on Base this afternoon. Unfortunately I had to bail early- nada. -fsh
Seeing how our Friday night partying lasted until noon Saturday, I didn't do anything today I'm going to try to pull cards tomorrow...
First sit but not what I was looking forward. Good doe but let her walk with twins just because I think these are the same deer that frequent my yard. The buck was lucky. Hope he grows for me or becomes a trophy for another lucky hunter.
I know I’m supposed to be hunting deer but There is this old Land Beaver that’s been sitting on a lumber pile 30 yds from my stand for 2 straight hours. He is just begging to get shot. I know he would be super tasty and all I’ve seen so far tonight is 5 or 6 spotted fawns. I guess those spotted fawns would be all kinds of tasty too though. Although I can only imagine how much grief we’d get if I dropped a 50pt spotted fawn in the scorecard thread….
Great to see this group active, it’s cooling down in kentucky so things looking good , off north for a little thing called Ryder Cup tomorrow, but I’ll be in the stand come Saturday. Here’s a few recent pics Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting .com Forums
I’m jealous, I’m a big golf guy myself. Enjoy! Saturday can’t get here soon enough! I’m ready to be in the stand. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
This weekend is shaping up to be real nice, cold front moving through as we speak. It hasn’t been under 84 here for reference for a couple weeks now. Will be hunting Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Yeah, looking pretty good here too for Saturday except the 50% chance of rain. However, I don't start taking that seriously until 2-3 days before the date I'm looking at which is the 25th of course.
Was out doing some target shooting. Took 5 shots at 25 yards and hit bullseye everytime. I'm ready for opening day for sure. They are calling for 2 to 3 inches of rain between Tuesday evening and Thursday morning and temps are looking to be in the 60's opening day with morning lows in the 40's.
Opening morning could be awesome here too. They are eating acorns pretty hard right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
