I would shoot both and see which one feels the best. Sent from my SM-N986U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Like Shawn said, but hell, shoot everything you shop has! After buying a 2020 VXR last year, I don't know if its really that much better than the 2019 600 dollar PSE I keep for a backup. I wish I would have shot a few of the Obsession bows now. That Defcon M2 7 looks interesting. On that note, my family always shot Martins, has anyone had any experience with the new ones?
Has anyone ever tried out the Elite bows. They have like 70% letoff and pulling 70 pounds feels like 40. They are great.
I've always heard good things, one guy said they kick like hell, but he might just be one of "those guys" I don't have a dealer around here to try one. Trying new bows is dangerous for my wallet
I think the one I tried out was an Elite 32. I loved it, draw back, shot, everything was smooth as could be. I haven't bought one yet though. Next bow I buy will more than likely be an Elite.
Anyone getting any good pics on their cams? Been real slow on here lately. I'm going to check mine probably 2 more times before the season opens, and depending on what I see will determine where I sit morning and evening. Unless I get one in the morning, then I'll take the evening off. Also going to do some shooting on Saturday and make sure I'm dialed in.
By the way, we are tied for 3rd place right now. 1 doe will put us in a second place tie and 1 decent buck would bump us up to first place, haha. We can do this!!!!!
Looks like the deer will be focusing on acorns around here this year. Our season opens Saturday and farmers are already chopping corn and will be starting to combine soybeans this weekend or next week. This is probably the earliest I have ever seen the beans come off. The farmers were able to get crops planted early this year and they did outstanding. Sent from my SM-N986U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
The newer bows are over rated in my opinion. Hell, I know guys 30 years ago that shot incredible. I don't buy into the new "this will kill you more deer chit" Same with rifles. I was once in a kick to get the latte$Ed n greate$t rifle built I did and it costs a chit load.. Now days I usually grab my 500$ 22_250 and that old girl flat whacks coyotes.. A great, new bow $ aint gonna help one bit at typical whitetail range. OK, I'm ranting now Forecast looks terrible for the opener. I doubt 8ll go. Did manage a quick goose shoot this morning. Got 2. Will go again tomorrow morning for an hour. It's been a hoot!
I shot a bunch of bows and went with the Bowtech Solution SS. It just feels better to me. I'm not getting rid of my destroyer. I purchased new limbs and should have her back up and running in a few weeks. I'm going to use the destroyer for a heavier set up for elk and the Solution a little lighter for whitetail as it has 60 lbs limbs. Bucksbears, I totally get that. I'm 38 and have taken countless deer and this is literally my third bow and I've only shot one rifle for whitetails. Humble brag here, I've only missed once with that rifle. I will admit that I only take lay-ups but I've had it since I was 11 and it does the job. I must get it from by dad as he is turning 70 and has had the same 270 since we was a teenager.
I am still hunting with my Bowtech Tomkat that I bought new back in 2006 or 2008. It still shots great so I find it hard to spend a lot on a new bow that will do the same job. I do know when I get a new bow that I will go with 60lb max instead of 70lb just for the ease during the winter. Sent from my SM-N986U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I’m using a Diamond Black Ice and that thing is smooth, looks good, and shoots incredibly accurate. Found on Craigslist 5 or 6 years ago and did some stuff to it. Love that thing. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
It’s official, baby sitter in place, will be hunting opening day (25th), Sunday, and Monday. Does will walk for now, cause I have some doe draw hunts in November. I killed my buck last year on opening day, saw I believe 7 or 8 different bucks on opening day. I hunt my main spot, from opening day until gun season, first weekend of November. Cause after that the neighbor comes in and hunts super close to the property line and blows everything out of there most of the time. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
One of my big boys have been showing up regular in daylight, in the morning, with a doe. We have a cold front coming for opening weekend as well, the stars seem to be aligning for an amazing opening weekendz Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Not horrible for opening weekend, but could be better. Looks like Saturday morning it should be in the upper 40's. Of course I don't take these long range forecasts too serious until its 3 days or less away. We'll see how much it changes between now and then.
