I figure on the same, GF wants help working a booth at a wine fest on the 25th... so I may have to be stealthy leaving the house.
Dang. That's something I was thinking about getting into. How do they eat in your opinion? T - 5 days for Wisconsin. Looks to be pretty warm but I will be close to home and my walk-in cooler so I sure would love to knock a doe down this weekend. Fingers crossed. I usually keep two deer in the freezer and I'm in a meat crisis right now. Dang growing kids might cost a doe her life.
So I believe I'm adding this guy to the hit list. Seeing him in velvet I was guessing him as a 3.5 year old but looking at him out of velvet he has some serious mass and his body is at least a 4.5 year old or older. What do you all think?
Yep, older then 3.5. Gemini, they ain't super great but good enuff. Last batch I breasted, then split each one in half again (making sure no steel BB's in the meat) put em in a crackpot on low for about 8 hours with a can each of cream of celery,French onion soup, beef broth and a 1/2 cup wildrice. Turned out real good!
Let's not forget about Drop Tine and Eye Guard! Unfortunately, no pics of Eye Guard out of velvet yet.
You guys.......you guys!!!!! It's been a rough 7 days. Mom, dad and two bro's with the vid. Two bro's to the ER. Hurt my knee and missed my Colorado trip. Shoot for the first time in a week and this happens.

My brothers are finally feeling a little better. I know at least one will be on stand this Saturday unless he has a setback. We are going to make the best of it. Plus, he's due.
Gemini, any improvement on the brothers? Wishing you the best of luck this weekend! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Good wishes Gemini! I've missed the MD opener - picking up a few more dove but primarily getting in my fall food plots. I hope to get out Saturday afternoon. I have a doe tied to a tree in my backwoods, but I'll probably work on my earn-a-buck does over at the Navy Base. -fsh
To all you guys that can already hunt or that start this weekend, Good Luck to you all! I start Saturday the 25th along with a few others. I'm about 90% positive I'll be on a blood trail opening day. So, who is drawing first blood for the team?
I'd love to draw first blood. I love good hunting stories and tis the season. I have a chance if I can get this bow thing figured out. Ordered new limns for the destroyer and I have some cash saved up for a brand new bow. Down to bowtech solution ss and Mathews v3 31. Ive also been looking for a traditional bow to start shooting. Any suggestions?
