So how long until everyone's season opens? Ours is 23 days out...unfortunately I'm on call that week though so I've got 30 days until I'm in the woods. I did take the next week off though so I'll have 9 straight days of treestand bliss!

I can't wait. I'm headed to the beach for a week next Friday so that should help pass the time a little but I'm ready for that first October weekend. Hoping it cools down a bit by then, it's been 95° or better heat index here since last week.

We start on the 29th of September. Haven't decided which location I'll be at, but wherever it is I'll be there by 5:30am or so. The first month of bow season is usually still very hot here in Texas so I'm generally on my way home by 9:00am - and late afternoon hunts depend on how motivated I am. I'm usually pretty motivated and roast in the shade of the ground blind. All of the properties I have to hunt on are inside of 10 miles from my home, so I'm pretty blessed in that regard.

Nice! I'm about a half hour to my property from my house the bad part is I'm 20 minutes the opposite direction to work so evening hunts during the week are pretty much not possible especially later in the season.

First decent buck to show up but it's still early hung another stand yesterday. Cant wait to be sitting in a stand this year. Found a major travel corridor on a creek in about a 2 acre woods on one of our farms put a cam up there only problem is no decent tree for a stand. [IMG]

Well last free weekend for me to be at the farm before the season. Think I got all my last minute projects finished other than rhino repairs as I'm still waiting on parts for that. But I got the cabin all patched up, checked cameras one last time, put a mock scrape in, did a little diy improvement on the climber and got the old horizontal all dialed in just in case I'm not able to get the new one before my first vacation on a few weeks. I'm ready to open this season up! [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Decided to throw caution to the wind last night and went to pick up a new horizontal, my little financial angel wasn't happy with me but the little red guy on my other shoulder kept goading me. Needless to say I now have just a bit more work to do before October! Hopefully I can get a few things done around the house tonight and I'll get to start shooting her tomorrow. [IMG][IMG]

Heading to the property this weekend to finally get the food plots in and the tree stands up. This is the latest we've ever been getting started cause of the rain. Hopefully will have some trailcam pics to post when I'm back. Hopefully the sim cards for our cellular cams get here before we leave and I'll be getting pics texted to me from here on out.

Lame. I've got a similar situation, I'm on call which means my hunting grounds are a half hour out of reach. I'm missing the first week but I took the 2nd week off to make up for it.

Haha no **** I work in the sewer dept for public works in my town. I tried to save 3 weeks for the season but the old lady was having none of it. Got the 2nd week, a 4 day weekend at the end of oct and the 1st week week of nov.

Sighted at 20yds from the deck of the cabin. Not terrible for a factory arrow group but at 40 they're all over the place. Think I'm gonna try out some bloodsport witness's for this season or until I can afford to spring for the BEE's at least. Other than that I am officially prepared for Oct 5th![IMG][IMG]
