North winds are kicking my butt. My best stands need the wind to be out of the Northeast. While I'm waiting I've set up and brushed in a ground blind that should be decent in a North wind ... and I'm working on an elevated deer blind for the end of the season. I was a bit worried that the big deer condo in the sky would scare off the deer from that part of the ranch, but as I was wrapping up for the day near sunset today I had deer coming out to the grain field that we're well within rifle range while I was still making construction noises. I might just get an opportunity to arrow a deer from this blind in December or January. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Been a crazy past couple weeks for me too but I took today off to get a head start on the weekend. We have a doe rifle season in but I'm still trying to put down a buck so I'm in a tree in a creek bottom between 3 ridges, crossbow in hand, attempting to finish up for the year. Hopefully the little break in the weather here gets them goin this weekend, still below freezing but plenty of sunshine today for a change! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Congrats! It will help your team only if you submit two photos of each animal with you, the bow, and the deer in each. Team captains have been instructed to remove deer from the contest that are not entered correctly. Throw up some pictures that qualify so you can get credit for a great season!
Yes, it's part of the game to post two pictures of yourself, your bow, and the deer to get credit for the kill. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Sorry haven't been on in awhile guys I'm still after it got a new #1 on the hit list. Love the kicker off the g2. Got several pics of him but only once during the day so far.
Well, the season is over here in central Texas. Just the one buck early in the season. The rest of the season was enjoyable but I didn't fill any more tags with the bow. I had one opportunity to get a doe and had a terrible miss ... turns out that my sight had gotten knocked out of alignment. The last two days of the season were all wrong for any of my bow stands so I got out the rifle and took my 4 year old daughter one day (no luck, she's still a bit too fidgety and noisy) and went out on my own on the last day. I got two nice does. One each from two separate herds of deer that came through the area. One about half an hour before sunset and the other one right at the end of legal shooting light. Both of them came in to about 100 yards and were dropped where they stood with 110gr Nosler Accubonds to the neck out of my 6.8 SPC Savage Axis. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
