If there is a 150" 8 point it is as rare as an albino.

Did you ever get your contest buck scored? Might want to get that done just to clean things up for the team.

Well gentleman I gave it what I had does not look like I will put points on the board this year. I tried last night but ran out of daylight I just can't take a center mass shot in low light because I can not see well enough. I watched the doe with wire last night, she may be the smartest deer I have ever watched from a stand. I was sitting last night an I saw a fawn coming thru the brush so I stood up and folded the seat up. I stepped on a twig on the platform when I stood up and saw the doe pause. She did not outright bust me but she lingered and did a circle, then crossed the plot and circled again and stood behind a red cedar that blocked a shot, she watched and waited for other deer to come to the plot before she would budge and I swear she used her fawn and other deer as cover when she was on the plot, she did not come out till it was too dark to shoot. If it warms up a little I will get back out but as of right now the deer won, does are so easy to shoot when you are waiting on a buck not so much when you are trying for a particular doe.

I run close to 3000 acres of farm and ranch and I can still find a little time to hunt and play on the internet. Sometimes we just have to knuckle down and commit to business.

30 degrees on sunday another shot at meat in the freezer. I don't even pretend a buck might show, that will happen the day after I shoot a doe. It is weird first year in many I have not released an arrow.

I found one of our big bucks today shot and laying in a neighbors bean field with his head cut off. No way to ID him for sure but I'm pretty sure I know which one it was. Most likely spotlighted, dropped on site and they cut his head off is all. Dogs were eating on the carcass and I saw it from the highway.

Dang man some ppl just don’t appreciate the hunt and challenge I guess. Hunting wouldn’t be the same to me if it wasn’t difficult. Can’t wait to get out there this weekend

I pulled some cards this morning, first pull since I found the dead buck on the neighbors field on Wednesday. I saw my two top bucks on that property on the 5th...day before I found the poached deer. I'm pretty sure the poached deer was over two days old so I think (and hope) it was neither of those two. There are several old big bodied deer around there, maybe I got lucky and they poached an old timer on the downhill slide.

One of the two I had on the 5th was the big wide 10pt that had disappeared all season long. Only one partial shot of him but I'm pretty certain it was him.

Pulled my camera today since gun season officially ended Saturday and my number 1 maryland buck is on cam and alive as of yesterday. Actually got a daylight pic of him last Friday. I don't gun hunt this area but the neighbors do so I had my doubts about him getting through this year. Also have a new buck showing up. Looks to be a 3 or 4 year old 5 pt. Kinda of a cool buck. Will probably shoot either if I get the chance.
