Got a stand hunt tonight in a new spot that looks promising. Had 6 does comes by in light so I’ll be back there Friday morning to hopefully put some antlers down.

I was talking to my friend last night, he is one of the best bowhunters I personally know. I was telling him that I am just going to end my season with a doe, he told me he did the same 5 days before. Just not a good season saw nothing but bucks too small to shoot. For me now it will be a race against the weather coming, been letting the stands rest for over a week now. Roasting up the last of the venison left in the freezer tonight so it ups the ante my wife told me I better shoot a deer she wants the venison.

    ALRIGHTY!
This morning I saw the big buck that I thought my friend gut shot a couple weeks ago. He looked healthy as could be so either that's not the deer he shot or he just nicked him. It was this one.

Oh I don't want to shoot him, he's not old enough to take off the ranch. I just wanted to see what he would do next year. We have a crap load of older bucks on the ranch to pick from. I may get out this evening with the bow. I'll be watching for one of these guys.

Buddy and neighbor guy hit a 200+ inch deer yesterday. Helped track, went over 6 miles. Bad splotchy blood, no deer.

How did they manage to track it 6 miles???? That's crazy.
If he went that far then he'll probably survive.

Came off nights this week so got a new schedule that’s not the same every week. Won’t be back out hunting until Monday 11th. Have to work out if I still get my vacation beginning of January. Hopefully I can take it before the 15th January when season closes.

I didn't get out to a stand, landlord and son in law came down and hunted all weekend. Neither one shot anything or even saw any deer in range.

How far would you track a 200" buck that you hit? I would probably still be tracking.

This may piss a few off, but it sounds like some range time is in order.

We guys I got a new woods to hunt outside of my county so I’ll hopefully be able to get it there and drop another doe before the end of season. It’s a small property possibly 15 acreas or less but connects to another large woods, the owner says there are two bucks running around a 8 point that could be 150” or bigger and a young ten point! So hopefully they make it to next year and I’ll get a shot at a monster 8 by until then it’s doe time
