Well he certainly finished out nicely Tom! He's got a bit of everything for a typical doesn't he. Nice frame, mass, tine length and main beam length and very nice brow tines. For lack of a better term I'd say he's perfect.
Well that's it for kentucky. Back to IL to finish my prep and in a few short weeks get in that tree. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I regret to inform you all that I am stepping down as captain. I hereby designate "Velvetbuck" as my heir. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Resignation not accepted. While he may be far brighter and more charismatic than you...he is not on this team.
well not very happy.. had Togo to my #1 spot with my big shooters and hang some signs. Some people are to stupid to know to stay on there own property. Praying I didn't mess anything up pattern wise for my shooters..... Mike4christ
I feel you on that mike. I think they should get over a little disturbance. Some deer more than others obviously, but they get over people after a while. Don't sweat it, just keep those dang trespassers away! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Better keeping the trespassers off than worrying about hanging signs disturbing the deer. Trespassers will cause more disturbance than anything.
U guys got any advice on self-filming? This will be my first year doing it so I'm keeping it real simple and if I like it I'll get some better gear next year. I'd like to get some videos for you guys since I ain't got any trail cams put out on public land haha Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Hey I'm right there with ya man I wanna film my shots too so I'm taking scenery with my phone lol and bout a spypoint excel to mount on my bow Mike4christ
Get a decent tree arm.. I think that's the key. I have done a little over the last 2 years nothing professional. I have a muddy camera arm and a small cannon camcorder. The camera is small but HD with zoom. I am happy with the results and for a couple hundred I didn't break the bank. The muddy camera arm is nice, because you can get it level and for $100 or so it allows you to get decent footage when self films. Just know the muddy doesn't come with a pan head to mount the camera.
This will be my first year as well self filming. On another note I started 2 mock scrapes back home today, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Okay thanks guys, hoping to get some good video this Fall. Can't guarantee great footage but I think it'll be cool nonetheless. I'm gonna get a decent muddy arm and manfrotto head then. I probably won't have a second or third angle just to keep things simple but I'll see. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Mock scrapes worked great for me and my uncle last year Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Kinda early for mock scrapes isn't it? The ones I find now are rarely the active ones during the rut.
Well my card pull was bad, not a single buck from my earlier post on camera. I seem to remember that last year as well they did that. I did a few touch ups on my stands so everything is ready for the season. Just got to keep practicing now until season opens.
