Shane, if you have to change who you are as an individual to be part of a couple, will it be worth it? If you're hiding who you are from her now, get out, it will only get worse.

My oldest daughters mother was the same way. It didn't last long lol. I would severe ties immediately IF she doesn't let you be you. The sooner the better.

Just tell her, and see what she says. My guess is if your on here you love bowhunting and if she is "the one" for you she will get over it. My wife likes stuff that I donot care for ie shopping, expensive crap, but I don't care, I'm sure she doesn't care for me hunting 4 days a week from. November to end of goose season but it's all give and take and she knows its the one thing i love after my family. Plus it's freaking bowhunting, there are a lot worse things in this world people do with their time. Good luck whatever you do.

Shane my gf, now wife, was dead set against hunting. Was a vegetarian for awhile, borderline PETA member. I got that conversation out of the way as soon as I could. I explained to her what it meant to me and my family. I helped her see the view from the other side. Told her that I wasn't going to change that part of my life but we didn't need to continue on if she couldn't except it. It was a nice long discussion, till she saw that it was more than killing a trophy or seeking out antlers. Now she goes with a time or two a year and has even expressed wanting to shoot a hog with a recurve. DO NOT hide it. The longer you wait the harder it will be. Explain why you hunt and let her express why she's against it.

Shane how old are you and your girlfriend? I don't think he is at the age that he has to make life changing decisions with a girlfriend. I know what I would do

Keep in mind, you're getting relationship advice on a hunting forum. Last thing I'll say is, if you're hiding it from her, that's the same as lying. They don't take kindly to that, don't care who they are. Come clean and let the chips fall.

Dang I missed quite a bit in this forum apparently lol. I went down the river on Saturday clearing the logs with chainsaws and handsaws with my uncle so we can get to our hunting spots this Fall. While in doing that my waiters had holes in em and I forgot my phone was in my pocket so it's probably toast. Got it in a bag of rice with a little hope of it coming back to life. Either way, got the river path cleared for what's hoping to be a great season this year!

Shane simple advice. Do a You tube search Garth Brooks unanswered prayers, trust me in 5-10 years with experince and knowledge you will look and think of these times and think it meant little to nothing of where you are in life. Hardest thing to explain to a youth the major moments will be minor moments when you have a bright future.

Just got the first pic of a buck out of velvet. Best card pull of the year so far and still no shooters. No shortage of deer though. It's only gonna get better from here

I know it isn't bowhunting and won't count towards the contest but I get to shotgun hunt Iowa again this year and my buddy sent some pics where I am hunting and I am pretty excited :)

I had a new buck show up on one of the feeders. Not a monster but I'd take him. MFDC0100.JPG

Started a fantasy football league for the members here since the old league fell apart. There is only one spot left and there is a link from a thread I started in the Water Cooler section. I know Tim you hate fantasy football :)

I've never had the energy or will to get into it either.
