Now keep in mind I shot a buck last year and that usually happens every 2 or 3 years so don't expect too much out of me.
Don't let Justin fool you guys. We have it in the bag this year! He is on at least 3 200" bucks already!
Seriously though, Dad and I took a ride last night and pulled out into one of our old fields. About 1/2 mile back I got a great surprise. The buck I call "Baby Beatty Buck" is 5 1/2 this year. I never saw him last year. But this year he is a freaky looking thing. I shot pics of him with my Nikon D7100 and a telephoto lens. After I get home and not playing at work, Ill post his pics and two of his friends with him. Needless to say those three boys got my heart pumping for season to get here!
I wish. Can't say I've ever gotten a photo of or seen a wild 200" deer in my life. Closest I had was a low 190's last year that the neighbor killed. I was hopeful to have another of similar size this year, but the couple pics I got of him this summer are less than impressive. I have one buck that should make it into the 160's this year and that's about it for big stuff. I have a pile of deer in the 120-140" range. Best one so far this year. This one got away from me last year so I have a vendetta against him.
Checking in! Can't wait for season, NC is about 4 weeks out from bow season, including this week. I plan to be hunting mostly public this year but will still hunt the farm on occasions. I am actually really excited to switch over to public. It gives me a lot of new land to explore. I don't have any nice bucks on camera yet but need not worry, last year was the same and I shot the most unique buck to date. We'll wait and see how this year plays out!
I have been chasing this buck I call FullHouse for 4 years. It is time to close the deal on this chapter.
Checking in! Don't get you hopes up for big points from me. Lol Good luck and stay safe this year! Rylan Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Checking in! I will be starting early this year with a KY hunt on public land Sept 1! Going after a velvet buck. I have been hunting the same buck on my property in ohio for 4 years and needed to switch it up.
Hi teammates! Contest 1st timer here ( not bowhuning 1st timer) .Got my first bow in 1965 and still have it, a Western Field Hunter recurve! I'm a 66 year young retired railroad signal inspector. I hunt private property in Northern Illinois and Southwest Wisconsin. Looking forward to getting to know you, hear your stories and see your pics.
What part of Northern IL are you hunting? I've got a couple spots close to home (Lake/McHenry) and spend a decent amount of time at a small lease we have in Jo Daviess as well.
