September 15th here for two of my places...reduction zones. I'd have to shoot a doe before earning a second buck tag in a reduction zone. So if I head out it will be first slickhead or button that come by is likely to get shot.

I will confess its been a couple years since I've downed a slick head...but this year I need to cut down grocery cost (wife is taking year off so budget is cut)...first slickhead if in an urban area IS DEAD MEAT so long as the spots have faded enough LOL

Ohio is September 28th and PA is the following Saturday, October 5th. They usually fall on the same day but I'm pumped that PA starts a week later because now it doesn't go out until November 16th. It usually goes out right at the start of the rut and I've always said that I would give up 2 weeks at the beginning of the season to have one more week in November. Looks like I got my wish for 1 more week in November this year.

Saw my first hard horned buck this morning in the way to work. He was a yearling spike but clean as he could be.

Taking the weekend off from anything deer related. Heading to the St. Croix casino in Danbury, WI for the next 2 days. Thinking of just staying off the property until opening day, going out plenty early to hang my stand. I’ve been out there twice all year so they are not pressured at all right now.

Got a elevated Radix Monarch blind at the property set today...checked plots only 7 days old and limited rain isn't making me happy at all....

However, Bertier (and some other studs) all still everywhere. I'll share two of Bertier's best photos...one he clearly doesn't like my poor man's camera in a high theft possibility spot, he sticked his tongue out at it. Another he stops in the spotlight LOL
