@virginiashadow dude you drop another!? My all day sit Saturday fellas was the worst sit at this property ever. SAW zilch until literally the last minute of legal time and it was two does. Checking cams proved that the 2nd through the 12th that section was UNFIRE with two bonafide no doubters and a few "maybe" bucks. Was a long dragging sit with zero movement. Nearly shot an oppossum once just to break up the boredom.
Yep. We get 3 buck tags. Unfortunately Virginia has a decreasing hunter population and they need to control the deer population.
I've got some family with land out there...maybe I need to tap into it if they're willing someday. Out of state tags fairly affordable?
Just a few of the thousands of pictures I grabbed onto phone I can share. I just looked. Looks like $220 and that would give you your state hunting license, big game tags, and archery permit. Over a 3 month season....
Isn't bad at all really. I need to finally start making some 3 day trips to spots I know I can get access...Virginia just got added to the list. Time to reach out to some of the family and discuss 2020. LOL Congrats again man, heck of a year so far for you!
Congrats on the buck! I sat yesterday morning and only saw a spike. Stayed in til noon and called it. I forgot how much I hate going back to work after rutcation. I'll be up in Chicago til next Wednesday then I'll head back south for another go around. Gun season this weekend so hopefully it's not to stressful in the woods where I hunt. What day is the last day for adding points to the board?
Guys, we are in the thick of this thing. Keep hammering and HAVING FUN. Im gonna kayak into a spot tomorrow more than likely. I like the adventure of it all. This time of year you may not be seeing bucks, but they are on the move. More than we think. Close to bedding. In the bedding. Find it, kill them.
I was in Iowa all weekend for the Iowa/Gophers and Vikings game... A lot of beer and gambling the last 3 days. Decided it was a good time to go as it was the 2nd weekend of gun season and we had family friends hunting the back 40 I hunt on. A couple of small deer killed, but nothing big. I'm not sure if the corn is still standing or not. Will check it out tonight after work.
Always good news when you hear the boom stickers got it done and out...but nothing big taken Those are the words I always hope to hear from our one farm, whose owner sometimes goes with his grandkids and they'll shoot the first thing with an antler. They love it, and if they finish early I love it to so win-win.
So is Racks buck still the last deer that has fallen which counts towards contest? I'm trying to run back through...
I'm headed back to SE Ohio Thursday after work. I have two days to hunt because I need to be back home Sunday AM. Youth Gun season comes in on Saturday. Maybe they'll push something into me.
Sorry I’ve been slacking guys. Gotta get back on the train. Have 0 plans this weekend or thanksgiving so I’ll be out. Ice fishing trip planned for December 6-8. Just have to hope the corn is still standing late season. Our property is basically useless once the crops are gone. 0 oaks and no other food. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I wish I could still be in a treestand but unfortunately I'm no help til thanksgiving. But yes get on doe bedding and soak it in cause eventually it will pay off or at least present an opportunity for a bruiser! That's what I'll be doing on turkey day, probably all day! Hopefully I can just seal the deal at first light like the last one, by far my quickest hunt.
