So wade's wife kyle works with my wife. She is posting my hunt story on deercast. Thought that was pretty cool.

I’m not making it out tonight. Went to lunch with the father in law and now at the American Legion with him and his rifle hunting buddies.

Not sure if I will bring my bow or not this weekend. I use the .270 my niece used before she passed away so that comes before anything.

All downhill for me unfortunately. Cold weather. No food left. Rifle season next week and a half. Going to be a grind.

I might be ice fishing next weekend.

Well fellas....I was on daddy duty and letting momma sleep when my Pops texted me he just shot the biggest buck of his life but was terribly worried about shot and feared may not be recoverable.....long story short we waited 6 hours later slowly checked impact, found blood and he died less than 65 yards from that spot!

Posted this to Small Acre Hunting and will just paste it:
God is good...continues to be the only thing I can put into text form and it seem fitting, but I'll try my best to capture this day.

Entering this fall Pops and I knew it would be the last most likely for us and the Homestead property...as they're planning on selling in the Spring.

I killed my first squirrel there...rabbit....doe and buck. Played cowboy and indians in the creek more times than I can remember and at a bend in the creek you can still find my "campsite" and fire ring of rocks there.

35 yards away from there is where I hunted for the first time in a dead fall with my father...

...today God shown down upon the property with Pops setting on the first set of the year overlooking the first food plot we EVER did...with the biggest buck we've ever taken off this soil, and is Pop's biggest buck as well.

God is good...and dangit if he doesn't write a pretty epic final chapter...

(More of this story to come...)

Andy don't forget to add your score card once you feel comfortable that its close.

I plan on hitting it this afternoon. Going to hunt a stand that I've not been in yet this year....
