Just got done working second shift otherwise I would have responded earlier. I'm Charles I hunt mainly southern illinois. Don't know what to expect this season haven't done much scouting. I hunt public and private land. First year for these hunger games as a team memeber hopefully I can help out. It's been over 7 years since I haven't dropped a buck during bow season. As long as the bucks cooperate I'm sure I'll put another one down this season. Nice to meet ya'll and looking forward to cyber hunting with everyone! Just got to wait til October 1st, which seems like forever away still.

Man loving already having everyone checked in but one, probably fastest group I've had in a while. Great sign!

As always in back of minds be thinking of team names and possible captains for when we have to pick both.

    Very good sign indeed!!

Ty - I have done the captain thing before and really don't care what name we come up with. I'll just go with the flow!

Little more about me. This makes my forty second year of bow hunting, and the desire still burns as bright for me as the day I took my first archery deer. I'm looking forward to early season evening hunts. October 1st can’t get here soon enough! I took a different approach this year and didn’t do any inventory with trail my cameras this summer. So I don't have any pictures to drool over like normal. I’ll start hanging them as soon as I see the first scrape show up.

Last year I chased two nice ones on the lease all year but didn’t manage to punch my buck tag. I had a shot at the big ten below and blew it. That’s bow hunting. He made it through gun season so there is hope that he is still there.

I also saw the Immortal again last year. I have had him on camera since 2015. I had a shot at him in 2016 but an arrow deflection on a tree limb saved his life. He disappeared in 2017 only to show back up last year again. This buck has to be 7 or 8 years old….

Cool looking buck. I'll be chasing a buck this year that I've nicknamed Neck Shot. Neighboring property owner snuck up on him in his bed, he stood up and he shot it. He came to us the following day to let us know that he had been on our property looking for it. I had trail cam picks of him the at night from the same day he was shot. How it missed his spine is amazing. I was surprised this year that he doesn't have anything goofy from being shot. These animals are straight warriors, this buck was shot 5 times and lived to tell all. Even had a mechanical deployed right above his spine and lodged just above the shoulders. Still walking around like he owned the woods. I sent it at 36 yds and he never made it 50 yds........#respect 20180110_174429.jpg IMG_20180108_122747_149.jpg IMG_20180108_122747_145.jpg

HOLY SMOKES...he was already dead when you shot him, just hadn't tipped over yet LOL! J/K

    Love stuff like this!

Does everyone here have the ability to take does? Been on a few teams where some fellas just don't have doe tags? On the outside chance luck shines on us with bucks I've never seen a team win without those support does or 2nd bucks (the year I won, that team I don't believe had a buck over 140 or so...but man did luck fall upon us all that year deer wise!)

I never shoot does but I'll definitely make an exception this year.

    That is absolutely crazy...

I am able to shoot one doe and one buck this year (that is for all seasons though).

I have been captain before but don't think I'll have enough time to do it again this year. You're asking the wrong guy about team names... My creativity is not the greatest when it comes to those kinds of things. I'm a pretty simple guy so anything is fine by me.

I get 2 buck tags and at least 2 doe tags so no worries on my end. Deer are like mice down by me so either way my freezer will be full again. As for a team name I haven't woken up fully so the brain isn't in creative mode!

I normally shoot a slick head every year, sometimes 2 or 3.. With my life time license i have more tags than I can use!

Found shed on the last day of hunting season last year. Prob a 2017 shed. My dream buck...a massive 6 pt. Here is a comparison with the 120 I shot last year. I really hope he is still alive [IMG]

Some name thoughts...some are cliche, spur of moment or just plain no clue why popped in my head:

    Sweet Sixtine
    Trophy Joes
Tatonga (means "large deer" in Lakota)
    Pursuing Tales
    Buck N' Roar
    That Last Wheeze
