It is a five category shooting competition for school-aged kids; BB gun, sling shots, NASP archery, 3D archery, and target casting. He won the 1st -3rd grade age division two years ago. The competition is put on by AGFC.

I can whip up a new avatar with the "Silent Slayers" name on it. While I'm at it, I can probably get some armbands made up with "SS" on them, for Silent Slayers. How does that sound???:lol::lol:

I like the name, but let's stay away from "SS"

Team - Got into the woods, placed a stand in a very key location which should pay off at some point. Not a lot of shooting lanes but, location is key...not total visibility sometimes. Also placed two more cams (running 4). The ones I had in the woods ran out of memory in July so, missed some recent shots of boomers. I will be trying for an early season doe as well.

Did anyone ever participate in years past in a WhatsApp group? I did last year for the first time and it made everything awesome. None of us every updated the team thread on the site as we were doing real-time updates all the time. Made the entire contest and comradery with the team so much better. Are we open to this?

I wouldn't be, between team thread and the Live From the Stand thread I'd miss every deer for sure trying a third. LFtS does pretty much what you are speaking of. It's pinned in the bowhunting talk forum.

No problem. Your right, it is like LFTS, but team only and a separate app.

Got 2 cameras out today and found some buck beds. Trying out one of the Cell link add one to a browning camera. Hopefully I’ll get some pics tomorrow of some horns.
My 4 year old wants to hunt this year. I think I’ll make a place for just him and I and call it his spot.

My son will be coming out with me as well for the first time this year. We purchased a double bull blind and set it out last weekend, he’s really looking forward to it, needless to say, so am I!

2 more days left for me, then I'll be out chasing whitetails! I have 4 personal buck tags between 2 different states, and that doesn't include all the bonus hunts that we have here in GA where the state tags them for you. A couple of those bonus hunts I'll be out with my grandpa's old 30.06. Can't wait!

Sweet! We will be rooting for you. It’s always a great feeling to have that first sit away from everything.

The first time I took my oldest son hunting, he was four. We were sitting in a ground blind along a well-used trail leading to a food plot on Veterans Day. Two does started coming towards us while he was watching a movie on a portable DVD player. I made him stop the movie so he could see the deer. Right as I was starting to draw on the lead doe, he gets really excited and screams, “Daddy, deer!”

He is 10 now and killed his first deer last year with a .243 on a friend’s farm. This year he wants to get one with a crossbow and the rifle.

Haha! My dad was lucky because I was never much of a talker. I would just sit in the stand or blind and look around, read a book, or fall asleep.

Heading to South Dakota early Saturday morning for a week-long antelope hunt with my dad. So I'll be MIA for a little bit.

But things are looking pretty good here at home! The first buck is a 4-year old at a spot right by my house. Only our 2nd year hunting this spot, so we're still trying to figure it out. The other 2 pics are the same 11-pointer that I'm thinking is only a 3-year old. But he's getting an arrow for sure if he comes by me!
