I’m good with any of the names. Let’s have a great season whether you fill the freezer or get skunked!

Well guys season is 5 days away. Figured I would pop on here and give you guys my status. Long story short, I got 3 shooters on camera during the day both morning and evening, I am hopeful they will continue that routine until this coming Friday opener. Now for the X factor, I have been diagnosed with an abdominal aneurysm, which means I need to be careful how I do things. Can not get my blood pressure up for extended periods of time in fear of exploding like a time bomb. As of now it has not grown to the point of surgery being needed but then again they will not do surgery unless it is 100% required.

Basically I am just going through life doing what I normally have been doing but at a slower pace. As far as feeling fit enough to hunt, heck yeah I am hunting !!! So with that said, everyone be careful out there this year and take time to enjoy yourself. Bow hunting in my book is not about the harvest, it is about enjoying yourself. Time spent in the stand to reflect on life and most of all being thankful for who you have in your life, this is always time well spent in my book.

Now let's get this ball rolling and win this damn thing !!!

Damn, be careful out there this year. Ain't a deer walking the woods worth jeopardizing your health for. Wishing the best for you.

I had hernia surgery early Aug. 2020, less than a month later a new one started. Surgeon basically told me I was crazy and go about normal. A bit over a year later and I have to hold my abdomen when coughing and sneezing.

I'll be hunting smarter and not harder as well.

I'm good with the consensus as far as team name goes.

Silent Slayers or Silent Assassins is good by me.

I'm good with silent slayers. The time is ticking along here in MN and I cannot wait for the opener. At this rate I don't have a "target buck" but I'm sure I'll get on something, just a matter of when.

Doing some long range scouting from my rifle stand. I have another stand about 40 yards inside the woods. [IMG]

Scouted for about three hours this afternoon for the urban hunt. Ended sitting in a creek bottom for the last few hours but didn’t see anything. Found some good spots for the prerut and rut based upon old rubs.

It is looking like I won’t be hunting again until the first weekend of October. My middle son has a birthday next weekend and my youngest the weekend after that. We are taking the boys to Dallas on the 18th for a Rangers game.

Regular archery opens on the 25th but it is a full moon that weekend. My oldest son has a shooting competition that Saturday. We was state champion for his age division two years ago. The competition didn’t happen last year, but he wants to defend his title this year.
