This one won't get a pass if I see him, likely won't though.

I was hot on his tail unfortunately and bumped him 20-25yds up the trail unknowingly.

Happened to me last year with my best on camera. Same one I was wanting this year. DFEC5F94-A3F4-4203-9B44-BB513A02C7B9.jpeg

go in an hour earlier tomorrow morning be set up ahead of him. I doubt you bumped him too bad in the dark. I have walked right past deer, set up, and had them come by during daylight. As long you you are quiet and he doesn’t smell you, I doubt you bumped him that badly.

    Well, therein lies the problem.

I put a cam down there and built a makeshift groundblind just to have somewhere to hunt when everyone else is out there. No one hunts this spot.

If you seen me mention in LFTS there was a groundblind behind the stand I sat today that was gone. It's now down in that area and he's hunting it the next 2 days.

I think I'm giving up on it next year and heading to public, doubtful I hunt very often in that case. Physically I'm unable to do what I need to do to be successful. One if the reasons I don't try run and gun with the lonewolf. I can't drag a deer anymore and can't use 4 wheelers on public.

Are saying someone else moved your ground blind?

If you are not following the LFTS thread, the Captain got it done this morning! I will let him fill in the details.

Checked my cameras today. The buck I shot is still on his feet. Looks to be doing well. I'm on vacation again next week. Going to try to put him down. STC_0309.jpg

No. It's their ground blind, they moved it down to a spot rarely hunted. I sat my apot for an hour today, we can make it work archery without interfering with each ithers hunts. Wouldn't want to tey it during ****gun or muzzle loader seasons.

As @cantexian stated, I got us anither one on the board. Definitely not what my hopes before season were, but happy none the less.

Noy much of a spread on him, but has decent mass to make up for some of that. Head is at a processor couple counties away getting euroed. Should have it back by the weekend. Only takes like 2 days for the beetles to work, but he does them in batches so wasn't sure how many needed for next batch. Will have it in plenty of time for entering.

If you guys need suggestions on hero shot poses hit me up, I have plenty of ideas.

Your supposed to get down real low and sit behind the back about 4 feet. This will help it look like a 150

Congrats man! I would be tickled to get a buck like that with the longbow! Looks like the bucks are starting to roll in. Hopefully the rest of us can follow.

Thats a real nice buck Clint. He may not be wide but man, he’s pretty and I love a buck with mass like that! People don’t realize that good mass adds up to more points than a couple extra inches of inside spread.

Well...I had three does come in tonight...took a shot at the first one 8 yards...missed clean over...ran about 15 yards and stopped but I didn't have another clear shot at her. The biggest doe in the group ran about 5 yards and stopped...they settled back down. I had time to grab another arrow and I took a shot at the bigger one...maybe 15 yards, she was slightly quartering too...I hit her high and back...my only hopes are that I hit the artery running down the spine. There's definitely some gut shot in there as well.. was not a pass through but there was at least 8-10" penetration. I did look at some blood when I get down and there's definitely bubbles in some of the drops I didn't find the arrow as I think is still in her...its been an hour...what do you guys think?

I would give her more time, at least 4 hours. If the temperature will allow it, I would wait until morning to trail her. Get out there after sunrise.

How did she act when she took off? How high are you up? 15 yard is a pretty good downward angle. Do you think you clipped the far side lung?

Can you find a deer image in similar position and put a dot where you hit her?

Sorry, just saw this. I get too many notifications and if I miss o e I miss the rest of the posts.

And thanks for the congrats guys. Looks like my rutcation will end with one buck. Still have 2 tags for archery and can use the bow for my two firearm tags so not done yet.
