Family and health first, no one will question your passion for deer hunting. Priorities override leisures always. Do what you have to do, and I hope it all works out for everyone involved in a way that is comforting and compassionate for all.
Sorry for the repeat, here is a cooler shot of that same buck. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

i am not worried about anyone questioning my passion for hunting. Family always has to come first in times like this. My FIL has had one confirmed stroke two days ago. It was mild as far as a stroke can be considered mild. It is sounding like he probably had another one last night that was stronger but still not life-threatening. I have a feeling this will become a pattern until it finally takes him. Hard times ahead for sure.
By no means did I mean it like that. I only meant that if you were absent, and understandably so, no one could question there was a greater reason for it. Apologies if it came off as different than that. Wishing you and yours the best under the uncertanties ahead.
I didn’t take it that way and I am not offended. Out of sorts, most definitely, but not offended. Thank you for the kind words.
Would that access route put you in a situation to bump deer...not sure if you have bedding in there...Would you be hunting morning or evening?
Probably evenings to start with. I haven't hunted this property much. May have my son set in the stand and do a slow stalk. Could push deer his way. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
My father in law passed this afternoon. Death is always difficult, but this is one of those times when it was for the best. Good luck if you get out this weekend, keep after it guys!
Sorry to hear that, but glad his suffering is over and the healing process can begin for those in need.
Another long work week. I need some peaceful time in the the woods, will be out all weekend. Hang in there Adam, sorry to hear about your troubles, praying for you guys. Dave
Adam, my condolences to you and your family. Sending well wishes to you and your family during this time.
Well last night I finally got a shot at a buck, probably around the 110" range, it was the 9 I shared pictures of previously. He skirted around to my strong side in some thick stuff and I didn't even hear him moving through because it was wet out from the rain we had. I had a good window when I spotted him but had already put my range finder in my pack, I guessed 30 but I think it was more like 25. Better to have missed than wounded. Lately I've been getting into deer based on implementing tactics learned about thermals, draws, etc., so the take away is I'm doing the right thing(s), just need to make sure I get my shooting figured out. Hope you guys are all having some luck seeing deer. I probably won't be out again until next weekend or the 20th after some work duties down in the area I hunt.
Nearly 90 this afternoon. Hunting in a t-shirt and thin overalls. I almost wore shorts. Hoping to see some action just before sunset. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
