Ditto, Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Man, was it cold and windy today on stand. I saw three does and that was it. I’ll be back at it tomorrow…the weather is supposed to be even colder. Yikes!
Well, Wisconsin was somewhat a bust. I had high hopes of leaving the state with a nice buck and strangely enough I never saw one. Three days of hard hunting in down right cold temps yielded five doe sightings- that was it. The good news, one of those does gets a free ride back to Colorado. It’s back to Nebraska next weekend…
We appreciate you efforts Will. Good luck in Nebraska! 23 hour of call left for me then I will be off for a few days. Our firearms season for deer opens up tomorrow. I’m hoping to go out with the wife in the afternoon. I don’t think I’ll carry the 350 legend with me but I might. I only have one doe tag left so I may hang on to that a little longer. I’m hoping the wife will get an opportunity on a decent buck. Good luck guys! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Big Bucks have been tough this year. Not sure what's going on. Had all kinds of them on camera all summer and then October got here and almost all of them vanished off camera. The one or two left went totally nocturnal. But it's late season right around the corner and all the deer get super food dependent, can be a great time to score a nice one.
Good luck in Nebraska Will and to everyone else out there still trying to get it done. I'm heading back south today for a week hoping to drop the string on a big one. By the time I get one the meat will have cost me 100.00 a pound. LOL!
Well, guys, nothing but does and a small 70-inch buck out of bow range. I smoked an opossum from 55 yards because...well hell, the bow just needed to sing, and the landowner wants to save turkey eggs. I had a coyote 10 yards off my stand early this morning...I just needed more light to see my pins. He was saved by a lack of daylight. I hope to be in S. Dakota next weekend. Man, I am trying hard.... God Willing
I’m still trying so to speak, back yard blind sits for the last hour almost every day and a few in the mornings. Just not much moving during daylight. It’s post gun season, warm and no snow on the ground yet so they really don’t need to move a whole lot. I did make it to my property this past Thursday and saw a couple of fawns, same story up there also. I have 10 days before I have my surgery and will be hunting right up until then. But there’s really not going to be any fronts or big temp changes so it’s not ideal.
South Dakota bound this weekend, Nebraska next weekend, and Louisiana January 9th-15th. Yes, far from over, and it's only 128 inches that separates us from first place.
If finger Mike updates his score it will be 6 and change less than that but who’s counting. Get em Will! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
