Well I'm back, and said to say I have no points to add as of yet. Blew shots on 2 good bucks, called one to 20 yards but I could not see the deer through the peep (glasses was in the way) and when I tried to move them I touched my release off and missed him by 10 feet. My son was videoing me and you can hear him say, what the hell was he shooting at; a lot milder than what I said! The second one I had does browsing around me for half an hour when the buck came down the grown up 2 track running his scrape line and started pushing the does around, had a little tree I thought I could shoot through; hit a small limb and shot right under him at 18 yards. Sad thing is, I did not trim that small tree because it still had leaves on it and thought I could use it to get drawn back on a deer. Sad news don't end there, called in a giant 8 point for my son on the 24th of Oct, looked like a good hit but tracked it a couple hundred yards and it started pouring rain, called in a dog but may as well have burned that money. Hunting around the house till I go back downstate on the 30th to redeem myself, don't count me out yet. Also want to say good job on putting some deer down.
@FingerMike was looking at your scoresheet, don't look like you got your 4th mass measurement if I'm looking at it correctly.
Mike thanks for getting the Buck score on the board. We are 128 pts back. Team still has 4 Buck and 2 Doe that can be added to our total, so plenty of room to pick away at Team 5's lead. Lots of season left. Good luck everyone. Most of all enjoy the out doors. The peace of the woods and the pursuit of the deer. The adrenalin that fills us being just 15yds from a wild very alert animal with senses far greater then our own.
I’m still hunting as much as I can, the gun season really took a toll around my hunting property this year… I will hunt around our house in the backyard swamp for the time being but will try to make it back up to the property when things calm down a bit. I will shoot the first buck I see no matter the size now. Unfortunately I only have until December 12, I am having surgery to replace a disc in my neck on the 13th so that will end my season a couple week’s short of the closing date. You are correct Justin. His score should be 115 5/8” instead of 109”. He will need to edit his post and add an updated score breakdown before I can enter it though.
I’m having someone who can contact Mike reach out to him and let him know he needs to get it updated.
I made it to Wisconsin without any hiccups. It’s three full days of stand time now. I hope they are moving here…we’ll see.
