I drove out of Nebraska this afternoon empty handed, but I'll be back next weekend. I saw a single doe on this morning's sit. I spent a few hours hanging a few stands for next weekend. Hopefully the new hangs will get me closer to rutting bucks. I think the chasing will be on in a few days.
About 16 miles east of North Platt along the River. It's major cedar country. The deer come out of the corn to bed in the cedars
Deer cape dropped of at taxidermist. Going to be a while before I see it again. He's roughly a year to year and a half out
I know the area some. Have some relatives on that area. Used to go out there all the time 10 years ago.
My wife says mine has to freeze for awhile. Oct 29th birthday dec 5th bday and christmas drains our account this time of year.
Forgot to update last nights hunt. Ran out with about 1.5hrs of light, found a nice hole surrounded by a fallen tree. Wind was trash and this was the only spot I could really use. It almost worked out, had a buck sneak behind me but of course, the wind was trash and he caught me. About 15min before final light I hear a buck, I see a body, I draw and wait...dang little forker. That's all I got for the evening, I got booked for an inspection Friday afternoon, so that's out, I might get Saturday morning, but time is dwindling and the land owners friends are about to unload for rifle season.
I’ve taken the last couple of days off, well kind of. I sat in my blind behind the house and saw 6 does and fawns yesterday morning. Could have shot a doe but they kept looking back so I waited. After about 20 minutes here comes a broken off spike…. It’s still warm and windy today but that is going to change soon. Probably back at it tomorrow
I want to encourage those of you that have not tagged out in the contest yet to just rest for the remainder of the season… you deserve it Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
