Oct. 1 here...was out at first light yesterday getting 3 stands ready and lanes trimmed...was a dense fog morning...felt like I should have been hunting.

Best part is that the neighbors field that is right on our border (and completly surrounded by woods)...is back to corn this year (3 acres I'd guess). It has been left to grass the last 3 seasons...should help us out quite a bit.

    ...chompin' at the bit!

You're gonna have to explain a little more in depth than that. All I can add is emoticons to the post titles.

Good luck to you DoubleLung!! I wont be out till Saturday afternoon. I will be in a draw over looking over a bean field. I have been seeing plenty of does in this area and one great buck feeding in the beans close to my set.

Well Gentlemen...I sure hope to see some points on the board by Monday then! Knock 'em dead!

Doe or Buck - I really hope our whole team can get at least one kill this year - the more stories and pics the better!

Well I made it out this morning, I didn't plan on going out because my camera man had to work, but I ended up finding a guy to film me. This morning we set up in a natural ground blind not to far from a bedding area hoping to catch the deer on their way back to bed. At 7:15 we had a small buck do exactly that. He didn't stick around to long and we lost sight of him. The woods are thick. I am heading back out this after noon and will be sitting over a bean field...Should be promising! I will keep you posted tonight when I get back.

Hey guys! I just spent 14 hours in the stand straight. Saw 3 bucks, but I'm hunting a EAB zone. I'm gonna take a break tomorrow and get back at it on Monday.

DL....if I were you (EAB) it would be driving me crazy not to have a buck tag in my pocket.

Well I technically have the tag. I don't have a transportation tag which is required for New Jersey. Man I hunted my butt off today. I saw 1 buck with velvet, one with velvet half off(hanging) and the other I couldn't tell , but he was cruising through timber at 1 o'clock which I found odd. It was unseasonably cool here though, but I'm glad it didn't rain.

The velvet thing had to be cool. I suppose you see that from time to time though. I have only seen it in trail cam pics.

To be honest with you that was the first time a saw it. This is only my 3rd year bowhunting. I want to take a velvet buck, but EAB is ruining it
