Great opportunity got you Lt.Smoke! I have tried to video my hunts some in the past but had a few opportunities slip throughy fingers because I was more worried about the camera instead of getting ready for the shot.

What kind of trail cam do you guys recommend?? I want a quality cam so that I can try to snap some photos of the game in my neighborhood and on other pieces of land i will be hunting...

Anyone have experience with the S4 Jacknife phone mount?

I like the looks of it and it seems to get GREAT reviews

For trail camera I recommend Coverts...surprise..surprise LOL! They have been very reliable and the battery life is incredible. In well shaded areas I do have a few washed out pics now and then but if the camera is out in the open or on a field edge the pics are generally incredible.

Never tried one of those mounts, interesting!!

x2 for the Coverts. We only have four ( 2-Red40's, Reveal, MPe5) but they are incredible cameras. Money couldn't buy a better camera.

I have a couple Moultrie M880 Cameras. So far, I really like them. I checked out several reviews on them before I bought them, and they generally received good reviews. (The Covert's are good too, I may pick one up when they go on sale after the season.)

Gotta get out and swap cards in the morning.............hopefully I'll have some good shots to share.

I'm not familiar with the stand, but it looks like you got a good deal! Just make sure you look it over real good for any damage to fasteners or welds.

Get yourself a good safety harness setup, and you'll be ready to go. It also a good idea to practice setting it up and climbing a few different sized trees, so you have a good idea of how to adjust it for the taper of the tree. That will help you set it up quickly and quietly once you get into a hunting situation, especially in the dark of an early morning sit.

I use a Hunters Safety Systems vest type harness. I like it, and I have confidence knowing I am safe should an accident occur.

Once you get a chance to use the stand a few times, let us know how you like it.

I am actually taking it to my uncle's store with me tomorrow... He owns an outdoors store.. They do hunting, fishing,Paintball, camping, archery etc... I am going to have one of his treestand guys look it over... I have to get a foot strap for it because that was missing... I am also going to be looking at some harnesses :)

I got like 10 different trees in my front yard... Gonna practice climbing :D

Along with what Lt.smoke said check that baby out real well. Looks pretty old just from initial looks. A couple of things I recommend for you with it is get a tether that would connect the top section to the bottom, in case the bottom ever slips you will be able to sit on the top and pull the bottom back up to you. Another thing would be a small ratchet strap would be perfect to use once you get to your desired height, wrap it around the tree and attach it to the top section to keep it good and tight so it won't slip when moving around.

I'm just hangin' out, watching it rain as thunderstorms move thru. Along with the rain comes a cold front, that will get rid of the 100+/- degree temps we have had for nearly a week. Much cooler weather for the upcoming week..........my wife and I are on vacation............and we are going camping. Enjoy the holiday eveyone!
