So when does everyone's season start and when are you anticipating your first hunt?

IL starts Oct. 1st which is a Tuesday, but my first hunt won't be until a weekend. Weather will dictate that, if we have a nice cool opening weekend I'll be out there freezer stocking.

I normally work 4 ten hour days M-T and OT generally falls Fri-Sun. Workload has been fluctuating quite a bit the past year so I'll be taking the OT when available but I'll also be getting my time in the woods.

I'll be putting 50 on the board first open shot, my buck hunting won't start until late Oct., but I will say this. I'll be shooting a dang 'yote over a deer every time it presents itself. I'm sure you'll hear a few gripes about them from me throughout the season lol

 

I'm in the same boat as you cls74. Opener is Oct. 1st, but I will be out there morning and evening if it isn't too warm.

We have plenty of 'yotes down here too, and if I see one, it gets an arrow. I will also be taking a doe the first chance I get, for points on the board, and meat for the freezer.

I take a week off the first of November, and I will be hunting every day. I took my buck last year on November 7th, coming in to check a scrape line. I hope lucky number 7 works again this year! I know we have a couple nice bucks on our place, and I hope to get them on camera in the next month or so.

October can't get here soon enough...........I'm ready to go, and hoping for cool, fall weather by then!

 

I hunt the month of October pretty hard, fill freezer and then the month of November I spend in New Mexico hunting Mountain Lions and Trapping, then I come back here to trap and hunt in December and then head back to New Mexico for Jan thru Mar to trap....

 

I'm good with cls74 as captain. We start Oct.5 in Pa. I'll be able to hunt every weekend and from Oct.11-15 because we have a break those days. Hopefully I can get it done while hunting less this year. I used to be able to hunt just about everyday but those days are gone.

 

My season is days away! Start in North Dakota on the 30th. Then Wisconsin owner Sept 14, and Michigan on October 1. North Dakota is a week trip, Wisconsin and Michigan I hunt all year. I'm pretty selective on bucks but sure I'll get an opportunity at some point, making good on the opportunity is the question. Family has a pig roast on Sept 29 so plan is to get a doe early and stuffing the hind quarters inside the pig for the roast.

 

Nice! Good luck in ND, hopefully you can knock down a monster in velvet. Supposed to be back in the low to mid 90's next week, that should knock down the anticipation a bit for me.

 

No kidding! I liked the "Summer" we had a couple of weeks ago..........cool temps and low humidity. I was in the woods this morning, and it was getting a bit toasty about 8:00 a.m.

 

So how long do you guys want to wait for team name/captain picks? Mass413 still has 9 days to check in.

I went through the thread and gathered all the team name suggestions. If anyone has any others just kind of do like the contest sign up and copy and paste with the new name at the bottom. I'm good with whatever.

I'm also partial to team name "Fatal Trajectory", and I think cls74 would be a good choice for team captain.

 

Fatal Trajectory would be a sweet name.

I still like my Full Draw Assassins name and I am going with CLS as the Captain

Looks like captain is done and nearly enough for team name. Trying to get an avatar/sig line made up.

 

Checked on all my foodplots and they are doing good, could use some rain... Going to pull some cards today see whats on them... I don't have no cameras up in my best spots yet...

 

You guys have any thoughts or colors for a team avatar? CoveyMaster is willin to help us out in creating one, but I'm drawing a bit of a blank on ideas.
