Well got up 6 tree stands and 4 cameras at the Missouri farm, only 7 days, good sign..

Last week I was interviewed by the FBI on the loss of my bows since it is a claim above $5000, they get involved on the insurance companies behalf, I have bad cel service up here on the Missouri farm but got a message yesterday that they need to see me Monday morning at 10am, hope it is good news... And we are getting some rain......

Was unsuccessful in North Dakota. Had a few opportunities on borderline shooters but it just didn't pan out. The best chance I had was on two 120-130" bucks I watched bed in the morning. Had a perfect ambush within 60 yards with river access to the area. Went in 4 hours before sunset to kick them out of an adjacent corn field. Never thought they'd be on their feet that early in 80-90 degree weather. Now its off to Wisconsin this weekend for their opener, hope to knock down a doe.

Hope you're greeted with good news on your bow Hunteropel. Good luck everyone.

I hope you get your equipment back or get reimbursed soon Darrin......I know it sucks! I worked in Field service for 5 years travelling the world fixing machines and the airlines lost my tools at least 3 times per year. I usually got them delivered to my hotel a few days later but I was usually gone by then on to another state by the time they would arrive. I recently checked my cam and have one nice buck in hard bone already....come on Oct 1st. I will post the pic in a little while of him. Good luck out there everyone.

Tomorrows sunrise will mark the 3 week countdown! Jealous of those of you have already dipped into the '13-'14 season, but with this heat I'm not overly disappointed.

Good luck in WI this weekend purebowhunting, hopefully you can make up for ND.

Gonna be 90* the next two days and then drop to 63* for a day time high on Friday. Unreal. Got some new pics in the past couple of weeks. These pics are keeping me pumped while I'm at school.

Wow, what a Monday.. Met with the lawyers and the lead investigator and he said they have my bows and case but said some stuff is missing and he wouldn't tell us what yet, said there in the middle of the investigation and wont give me any details, BUT I am glad I will get my bows back!!!!!!
Went to check on plots and found 2 dead deer in the creek, both bucks around 100"... I think we are going to get hit again or already are in the middle of it..
They say the heat will break Friday, I hope, we did get some rain, I tilled one plot under yesterday that didn't make it and I am going to plant oats and wheat next week for a late season plot, I am going to pull cards this weekend and see what I have....

We haven't found any deer in or around the creek running thru our property........yet. Also haven't heard of anything being found on the neighboring property. I have a couple of cameras setup in the woods, but not seeing much activity because of the heat. I think the deer are still sticking to the edges and fields due to the heat. Going to move the cameras this weekend to one up on a ridge, and another on the soybean field edge and see what that catches.

It looks like cooler weather (much cooler) is on the way for the weekend and next week! Hopefully, that will help the deer herd, and get them moving a bit more. I wouldn't be traipsing around the timber in this heat either, so I can't say as I blame the deer!

I'm MORE than ready for fall weather............and October 1st so we can get going! :woot:

    Hey Guys,
Sorry that I've been AWOL. I've had way too much going on at the same time lately, but I'm here and ready for the season (at least part of it). I've been reading all the Team 16 posts. We have a great group of guys and I'm really glad that Opel will get his bows back. I'm curious what airline you were flying on.
I live in Kansas City MO and hunt near the Clinton MO area, if you are familiar with the area. Our season starts on Sunday. There are two properties that I mainly hunt and I'll be spending opening day at what we call The 120. I'm attaching a few photo's. It's the best of what I've seen so far so might as well start there.
This year my season will be shortened somewhat starting Oct 1 when I will have both knees joints replaced. It's gonna put me down for a while but I really plan to do some late season hunts if recovery goes well. I'll hunt the weekends until the surgery so I should at least have a doe for the boards and hopefully some bone will fall too. We haven't seen as much on the cameras this year as we normally do. Not sure if it's because of the abundance of coyote in the area or not. Our food plots are looking great. The beans look better than any of the farmers in the area. Maybe that will help us later on in the season.
Good luck to you guys that are already hunting this weekend. I can't wait for Sunday to get here.

You've definitely shot some quality deer over the years. Can't remember if it was you or not, did you leave one lay overnight amd have it stolen within the past couple seasons? Remember someone posting about it and thinkin it was you.

Good luck Sunday, with the break in the weather I'm definitely a bit envious.

So I came to the harsh reality that I had a 2.5 month brain fart... The whole time I thought my bow was sighted in for 20,30 and 40 yds... I was way off... I cant even explain what in the heck was going through my mind when i was pacing out my distances but I had derpa derp brain... Now that I have my brand new Rangefinder it brought everything to the light... Time to go and shoot at the ACTUAL distances I need lol...

I am JUST so happy that my brain started working properly before I was actually in a stand staring at a monster and miss due to my derp moment :)
