I’ll be out next weekend. Just had a major monkey wrench thrown into the system... two of my nap killzones fell apart while I was broadhead tuning I guess it’s time to switch back to fixed blades. Any suggestions? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I will! Iv been stuck out in Europe sailing for the past two months and finally I'm ready to leave so back to the lease it is! It'll be a quick hello to the wife and off I go haha
I stopped using mechanicals and went to the Muzzy Phantom 4's. I also like the look of the Muzzy Trocar if you wanted the best of both worlds
Hoping to get out during the week this week with cooler temps finally arriving Wednesday. Unfortunately, this also coincides with one of my busiest weeks with work and responsibilities in the evening, but really want to get out before the weekend. We will be duck hunting on our property this weekend so probably not going to make it out bowhunting other than maybe Saturday night. Wednesday evening will be ideal, but I'm supposed to have a commitment that evening. Oh the dilemma!
I'm using the new Muzzy Trocar HB hybrid this year. Even if the expendables fail, the head has fixed blades on it as well.
I decided to go back to my old faithful, muzzy 100 grain 3 blade. Haven’t had a chance to shoot them in yet but never had an issue before. Fingers crossed they are easy to tune in this week Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Little slow growth on the plots but coming in nicely after finally getting some rain followed by the hot temps.
I'm using the trocar hb this year and have one doe down with them, not disappointed!!! Put her down within 60 yards Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Season has been open here in WI for 13 days and I'm finally going to be getting out in the stand tonight for the first time. Deer movement has been down on the cameras during the past week or so, but with the cooler temps moving in yesterday, I'd imagine some deer will be moving tonight. Hopefully can get 50 points on the board for the team, although I wouldn't mind 130 points either!
I haven't been able to get out since opening weekend. Will be another week or so before I can get out. At least it's keeping pressure off the property.
Little bit slow tonight. Saw a decent 2 year old buck at around 5:30 about 100 yards away. Had a year and a half at 10 yards at around 6:00 then nothing until right before close. Had 2 smaller doe come in. Closest they got was about 28 yards and they were a little on edge for whatever reason. Didn't feel like tracking tonight with rain showers in the forecast so elected not to shoot and wait for a more sure shot. Was good to be in the stand though.
LOL! I thought about that for a second when I was debating drawing back, but as I said, the doe were smaller, probably last year's fawns and they were just a little jumpy. They didn't have any idea I was there and they were directly up wind, but still were on edge. Coyotes were barking in the direction they ended up going as I was walking out of my stand so not sure if they sensed danger or what. The one doe just kept walking in circles and just would not relax. All those things added up to me deciding to wait for a better opportunity, which I know will come at some point.
I'm heading north for a 2nd weekend in a row this weekend to fish walleyes on the open water one last time. The fall bite is really kicking in so I have to get after it before the lakes freeze up and ice fishing is here. I will dedicate my weekends to hitting the woods as much as possible there after.
It’s finally here boys! I’m all packed up and ready to go lay the smack down tomorrow morning on some pa public land. Won’t have service in the stand but will try to update as much as possible. This cold front has got a ton of deer on there feet in the last couple days. Can’t wait, it’s like Christmas morning!!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
