It's all good!! I remember that. Didn't I see where you were running??? I know that must be painful!!
we're only pending a couple check ins, anyone want to throw options for team names out there? doesn't necessarily have to be a play on '16' but it can be could go full NFL and be the Team 16 Deer Hunting Team its dull, its boring, it's a bad idea ala the NFL. Enough kidding around, anyone have any real suggestions?
Yea, I started running a little here and there, but the day after kills me still. Have a small sharp bone fragment that reattached to the side of the femur and I think it irritates the muscles surrounding it. As for team name, here are some suggestions: Team 4x4 Team Sweet Sixteen
Hi guys, I'm Bruce. I live in Northern Illinois. I hunt private property close to home and also some private land in SW Wisconsin. I'm a 68 year old retired railroad signal inspector. Got my first bow in 1965 and still have it!(a Western Field Standard Hunter recurve). Looking forward to getting to know everyone, hearing their stories and seeing pics! No judgment zone here, shoot what makes ya happy and I'll be thrilled for ya! Let's all stay active and have some fun! Sent from my SM-G950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I'm the least creative person! I like them all! If they make me laugh then it's awesome!! Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app

I’d say that’s a great sign that we’re all checked in. Should be an active team and a good group! Every one have doe tags available? In my experience with the contest, if we can get a bunch of doe down, that can be the difference between being middle of the pack or toward the top. My personal best score for the contest in my 4 (or 5) years is 192 5/8. Shot a dandy 142 5/8 8 pt and a doe. Hope to join the 200 point club, but I need to get a 150” on camera first! So far I have a bunch of decent bucks (some of which I’d certainly shoot), but should have a couple nice ones in the area that I found sheds of and had pics of last year. Did jump a really big 8 while planting food plots. Not sure if it’s 150 big but in that ballpark. In the past I’ve been a part of some teams where we put together a little prize package for the team’s highest point contributor as kind of a friendly competition between the team. Anyone interested in that? Usually like a trail cam, some broad heads, etc. Anyway, looking forward to a great season with you guys. Team names are whatever you guys want. Doesn’t matter to me.
If I remember correctly that 142 5/8 buck of yours was Cocoa wasn't it? Great buck! My son was on your team that year. I was following the contest along with him. Sent from my SM-G950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
That's awesome and really cool to get that close!! Congrats! I like the prize idea. Been on several teams and no one ever mentioned that. I completely agree on the doe theory. I have access to as many doe tags as I have fingers and toes. No, I'm not a poet. Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It definitely adds another layer to it. The only thing I don't enjoy is all the time it takes to edit videos and make them decent. I had a nice one come out last year but couldn't get the camera to focus on him so I let him walk. That was difficult to do but in the end worth it in my opinion. Let us know if you decide to self film this year.
I had the same sorta thing happen a couple of years ago. I had one that I had been watching for several years and decided it was the year I'd take the shot if I had a chance. Well, the chance came towards the end of November that season. I heard a grunt and reached over to hit record on the camera. That went well but as I rushed to grab my bow I bumped a twig in front of me that I leave there for cover. He froze at 15 yds. He wasn't sure what was wrong or where it came from but knew it wasn't right. The doe that he was after didn't hang around thinking it was her chance to get away. I tried to stop him and shoot, I missed. He was poached the following season by some guys hunting over a corn pile. Sad. The attached pic is just after I missed him.
looking for ideas on what to do with this plot, was planted with clover and honestly i dont remember what else about 8 years ago too late this year but going forward... tillable all over, river about 1/2 mile east
