Seen three bucks, the 10 this morning and two eights or maybe the same eight twice. Didnt get a good look at him the first time except to see he wasn't big enough. The last one 8 was bothering a doe one of a group of 4. Looked like a three year old buck.
I never killed a big buck mid day dispite lots of all day sits. I really have no confidence in midday yet here I am foodless and backsore staying in all day.

such a pretty afternoon and yet havent seen a single deer yet.
There may or may not be a full on multi tribe squirrel war going on right now though

72 degrees and south winds here in WI so when I got a call to help a young guy I used to coach track a buck with my lab Boomer, I decided to do that instead of hunting this afternoon. Pretty cool to be able to help him recover this deer. Not much blood. High, quartering away shot. Exited through liver and just clipped the back of one lung. Boomer led us to him after getting confused with a lot of trails through a heavily traveled bedding area, but we worked through it and were successful.

ended up with a shootable buck going by toward end of light, a grunt got him to get within range just behind a cedar... never got a clear shot.

    Back at it tomorrow

Good luck if anyone is hunting this weekend. I am flying home today. Hoping to get my son out with me again for a couple more sits. I dont have any more more buck tags but I have a couple antlerless tags left. Our gun season opens up the third Saturday of nov so then I get to sit out for a few weeks.

Had this guy slip by me this morning. He sat at about 45-50 yds the whole time. It’s like he knew where my shooting lanes were STC_0013.JPG
