So...I had one day to hunt the PA archery season since I have been working on my boys new bedroom prior to the new baby coming. I put my strategy together a week before the hunt. My dad and I would hike back in the woods about 1.5 miles and we would hunt within 100 yards of each other targeting 2 swamp cross over points. Well, by 9:30 I arrowed my second ever archery buck! This was after seeing 3 other buck that morning and not being about to get a shot at a very large 8 pointer. This guy presented a close shot and had my heart pumping.

Don't have measurements yet and likely won;t have them till the taxi gives them to me. I did not have time to take them myself before leaving for a fishing trip later that day. To clarify, he is a 9 pointer.

Big congrats Pick! Great PA buck!

Now, we're one big buck away from getting back in the game.

If we need the points, I can hammer a doe any weekend.

If you guys can get us within 50, I can pull us into the lead.

Congrats pick! I also plan on getting us another 50 points as I still have multiple Ohio doe tags. I'm also planning on bowhunting in WV during the rifle season.

I put a buck down in PA last weekend. Not huge, I think he measured up to 106 and change. I'll get picks and the numbers up when I can, but count on another 100 points from me.
I'll put a doe down at some point, but it prob won't be until some time during the late season.
Congrats to everyone that scored and good luck to you guys still grinding it out. I'll be back out in MD tomorrow morning and a few days next week.

Haven't forgot about us. I've been working tons of hours lately but still have made it out a couple of times. Bucks are still on the move around here so I'm going to try to be out this weekend. Haven't seen a shooter since Mr. Crabs...tear.

Oh Mr. Crabs, where are you??
Hey guys, I'm still here. Hope the hunting season has been fun so far. We still have a couple of months to go here in MO. Haven't been out very many times this year. I did manage to stalk up to a nice buck (within 10 feet) a few weeks ago. Was using some tall grass as cover to approach him and had no idea I was so close. I actually heard the air leaving his lungs as he exhaled. So I tried peeking over the grass and a doe that was about 30 yds away busted me and took off. That pretty much ruined the whole thing as the buck sprang up and took off too. What a hoot! I'm pretty sure that guy is still hanging around out there.
Try to stay warm out there guys. It's getting mighty cold.

THANKS!! For bringing that wretched memory back! It still disgusts me. Oh well, live and learn. I still have bucks hitting the scrapes and cruising around. I plan to get out Weds morning if I can...it's the warmest day in the forecast with a high of 31.
