Agree. Pre-rut is when I usually start all day sits. But, not every day, because they can wear you down quickly.
My plug for the windy app. Pretty accurate if your not in crazy mountains with thermals playing into the mix. i kinda penciled in my property and roughly where I expect to sit tomorrow. The wind will be unfavorable on Sunday pm, as the deer come from the back of my property.
I’m not hunting today. Giving the woods a rest and it’s just too hot to expect much moving and it’s going back into a south wind. Epic trash wind Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Same here. I've got a north wind today, the absolute worst direction for my blind. I'm staying out because of it, but it frees me up to watch the Phillies first playoff game. Go Phils!
Tomorrow evening or Monday looks good, almost 20 degree drop in 24hrs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Way too warm to be hunting, but I’m giving it a go. Showed my son a picture of the area, he picked this spot. Made a makeshift blind out of a fallen tree, going to be tricky, but should have the wind in my favor on this rub line heading to the fields.
Checked cams today and got video of this guy making a scrape 15 feet from one of them. He's a decent 8pt, but the other buck I've gotten videos of is a bit bigger. Here's the scrape he made, then he pooped in it. I really have confidence in my blind location. It should be busy once the pre rut/rut kicks in.
Not even a doe this evening, figured it was little too hot, but oh well. Temps are dropping this week. Going to try and get a few evening sits in, might try the swamp WMA and see what that’s all about.
Nothing for me tonight, kinda weird since the conditions were very good. Who knows, maybe the bears or wolves strolled through there today sometime.
making my coffee this morning and looked at the little weather station thing, it said 38 degrees............ What I wouldn't have given to have been in a tree 1 of my main stands had that wide buck just before sunrise this morning with turkey going by late morning other stand with a cell camera had several large doe during early shooting hours. but no, I'm stuck in the office
