This will be the last one, it's getting too sketchy to be on two wheels anymore. Might help keep my hobby funds in check as well...I need to find cheaper ones. But I sure love motorcycles.
Brother in law decided he wanted to try his hand at coyote hunting recently. he set a ground blind up off the end of our (needs to be redone) food plot and he called in a small female coyote and took the shot. I think his shot was longer then he told me, he said 70-75 yard, but I'm out at that cabin a lot more than he is and would guess his shot was in the 120-125 yard range. the less coyotes the better, the less female coyotes even better!
all the sudden in the last 2 days I've been getting more and more pictures. Several large doe with fawns, some baskets righting, couple decent bucks. Just have to figure out my availability and pray it aligns with theirs
Coyote hunting is one of my more recent obsessions. They are a blast to hunt here in NY Oct 1 through late March. In two seasons of really getting into it I've killed 70+. This year I am plagued by more than ever, they sure can reproduce.
Got my arrows in, not really impressed with the cut and assembly they did. They also do not have fletching, so, either take to a shop and pay for that, or just get another set ready to go. I may just buy another set of 6 just to be ready by the weekend, if I have time, I'm heading to bow shop to get new bow adjusted etc.. Debating getting some helical fletched arrows, but I shoot hybrid broadheads, not sure if that would really be beneficial. If it wasn't for the last min, nothing would get done.
I read this and thought "did I miss a post about getting new arrows" but I didn't see one. if you want my 2 cents, which is currently worth about 1/8th of 1 cent.... fletch them yourself. I have an E-Z Fletch mini with helical and I enjoy fletching. Even do it with my older boy What is the issue with the cut and assembly? Are the inserts glued in with glue all over?
boy, the don't I'd try to square the ends then debur them - pain in the butt and you shouldn't have to if you paid for them to be cut. Again I'd fletch them myself as well. You could do all of this in an afternoon in your garage all the while cussing under your breath at the place you ordered them from.
They are a big name around here, I've reached out to them before blasting the name, but I'm not thrilled about what I received. This is why I have a crap load of specialty Harley tools, can't rely on others to do the right thing, I may be buying archery tools next.
Called Lancaster Archery, he said it looks like someone forgot to square them, sending me a squaring tool no charge. Probably going to buy a fletching jig for myself as well. A++ Customer Service from them.
I found it calming and enjoyed shooting with arrows I (loosely using the term) "Built" I found the smaller the tip on the glue applicator the better
Was out yesterday evening, only saw one spike, which busted me taking a leak. I could NOT hold it. I was seriousely worried I'd spooked the 8pt I'm after, because all I could see was a pretty big bodied deer take off in the area I'm expecting my target to come through, couldn't see a rack though. It was right at one of my cams, which I checked at 11:00am this morning, and it showed the spike. I'm relieved. The very last thing I wanted was to spook this 8pt, and make him aware of my blind location. This funnel is only about 75yrds wide, paralleling a road. The unpredictable wind shifts are my biggest threat. Back out tonight.
Good to know, not sure if you are the one LC was talking about when he let me know the other day. Either way he has until tomorrow to check in and then after that it’s up to LC to give us a replacement.
Didn't see anything this evening after four hours of sitting. Rain tomorrow, but I'll back at it on Thursday. I'll see that 8pt sooner or later.
Hey guys, just a reminder that we have a group chat set up if anyone else would like to join. Our leaves are turning quick here in NY, with the archery opener on Tuesday. I have a couple of bucks I am trying to develop game plans for. Last night glassing I was able to add another piece to the puzzle so I am optimistic for the first few days. The bean fields have turned early and the hay fields and acorns seem to be the primary focus of the deer. Scrapes are popping off
