they live in a neighborhood where everyone has a handful of acres of woods and you are able to hunt there.

Going in an hour before first light tomorrow morning. With the dew on the leaves, it'll be quiet getting in. Don't want to push this guy out of the area. He's been around for a couple weeks now. If he shows an hour or so later than he did this morning, maybe I'll get a chance at him.

Saw 4 does yesterday. What was interesting to me was where they came from.

Around my property, there is small hilly, any soiled spot with short scrubby pines and cedars. In the opposite direction, more mature stands of mixed hardwood/conifer. Yesterday was warm and they were in the first scrubby pines...

Kinda caught me by surprise. Only wish they crossed through my property in a spot where I would've had a shot. Oh well.

Yesterday, I saw a doe at 3:40pm, then a small, but wide 4 pointer came past me at 15yrds around 5:45pm. At least I'm seeing a little daytime movement. The rut is heating up! :nana:

I forgot to mention, that I saw him make a scrape about 20 yrds from my blind. Love watching rut activity.

Doing a dark to dark tomorrow. It's a lot tougher than it used to be for my 67 year old body. Getting videos of my target buck closer to first light than I have in the last few weeks, which is how long he's been in the area. At this point, I'll be happy just to lay my eyes on him.

This past weekend was youth weekend, so I didn't get out. Also had almost all day soccer and football Saturday, wife is in panic clean house and pack for our Colorado trip, so I have that going for me.
Needless to say, I'll be out of the loop for a week. I'll be back the 5th, I plan on putting some hours in that weekend though.

Still moving at night and coming from corn field , I swear he’s bedding in there. I have 2 cameras on the sides of this spot and he’s never on it so he must be coming out thru the field

Couldn’t hunt this morning and he finally daylights. I’ll be out this evening and might move sets near the bedding area with most action right now[IMG]

    guys I can't win
my car is dead now, long story I put a rambling version into the watercooler. Making it short Costco installed wrong sensor now ECU is mad.

I had a meeting with the president of the company I work for and told him because he doesn't give any PTO I don't get to deer hunt this year, thought I had him there for a bit but he didn't cave..... I'm still working on it

This sucks, for both. Hopefully the car gets fixed and you will be able to get out sometime soon.

Taking the afternoon off from work to get in the stand early. Front is coming today and lasting through Sunday night. I plan to hunt tomorrow morning and might pull an all dayer Sunday. Tomorrow night is unfortunately off the table, I am voting for whatever candidate outlaws November weddings.

Good luck to anyone hunting this weekend!

Went out this morning, saw a doe and twins and 2 small bucks. The bucks were harassing the doe and twins. Today was the first day I have seen a buck this year, still haven’t seen any rubs or scrapes. This year has been very weird.

Out again this morning until 12:30ish, nothing. The deer numbers seem really low this year.

I am supposed to head up to Illinois early this week but now I am keeping an eye on this new tropical storm heading to the Gulf. 90% chance it get sheared before making any impact but the latest models have it coming straight to Louisiana... have to play it by ear for now
