Since I've had to hunt from a natural ground blind, because my climber has become too much of a chore, I have to use my CB. There's no way I'm going to draw my compound (Hoyt Vectrix) on a buck at 20 yrds, or less, without getting busted. It's just an unrealistic expectation.

There is an obvious advantage to using a CB, not having to draw, but it's still pretty much a 20yrd game. I get the same sense of satisfaction killing a buck from the ground with my CB as I do killing one from a tree with my compound. Maybe more so with the CB on the ground, because I'm on their level and it becomes much more intense.

I’ve been pretty careful playing the wind, access, and bouncing around. I’ll blown at once when I bumped a deer walking to my set in a.m. He’s pretty comfortable there and lived there when I missed him 2 years ago. Not sure he even knows he’s being hunted

I’ve stayed out of woods for 3 days, these S winds are less desirable

I know the feeling. Last week I had to stay out for 3 days because of north winds. I can hunt with anything but north winds.
The 80F temps aren't helping anything.

We have another cold front coming through later today and tonight, it’s been hot and windy around here so I haven’t been out for a week. Tomorrow morning looks great at the moment so I will keep an eye on it and maybe do my first morning sit, I know it’s getting close.

Yeah 70s here too, cameras still pretty dead. Birthday is tomorrow so hoping to have a little luck on my side. Hopefully wind changes so I have some options to sit

I've gotten 6 different bucks on cam in the last week and a half, but they're all night pics.

Yep, one of my pics was at 6:40am, just before first light. Hopefully, another week, or less, should make the difference.

I was out this morning, did not see anything. Very odd, had a good cold front come through, good temperatures, good wind

I’ll be out on stand both morning and evening tomorrow. Haven’t hunted in over 3 days due to weather. Hoping he’s up to check those scrapes

Yet another deerless evening for me. I'm still hopeful with cooler temps on the way.

We have to keep after it! The next few weeks should be fun! At least that’s what I’m hoping for
