Took son and hung set over 3 scrapes, several rubs and intersecting trails in thicket. Were a couple beds probably best to hunt morning. Hung a set of sticks further in towards bedding area, some old and new sign in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi Guys, sorry about being a ghost but I would never forget the big contest. Been out last night arrowed a doe and a fawn. Late night still got up with 4 hours sleep and arrowed a nice buck. I assume solid 140’s. When I get it scored I will enter it. Hope everyone is enjoying the season so far.
Might as well get an entire seasons worth of killing within 24 hours! Nice. Make sure that doe gets on the scoreboard too
Getting closer to daylighting! Just hung a set by that camera and further up the ravine he’s coming from Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You guys got me fired up! I’m packed up and ready for the am, going in close to the beds/scrapes in the deeper part of the woods. Past seasons this spot seems to be the chase zone in the woods, where I’m usually about 60 yards off it. Wind might be sketchy, but the risk/reward might be worth it. I’d like to stick a buck, but a doe may be in the cards.
Warm temps killed deer movement. Literally not one photo this evening Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have a bow and a crossbow I prefer to use the bow but I do find good reasons to pull out the crossbow from time to time, and think it should be considered archery equipment. That said... my crossbow has been in its case for a year threw some wax and rail lube on it and first shot at 20 yards was literally a dead nuts bulls eye it is different level of tool than a bow... If I have to use it I will. We have a couple stands where a compound bow is tough but a crossbow works, just has to do with a couple things 1. small foot platform - I like to stand when shooting and that platform makes it hard 2. one stand is pretty exposed and getting the crossbow shouldered is easier (at least for me) to not get spotted than either standing and drawing, or turning my hips in stand and drawing also the late season frigid sits are tough on my with my bow, after sitting for hours in 0 degrees
