Bummer. Three years ago, I made a back stop from a horse mat from Orchelns and extra wood laying around. Best $50 investment I’ve made. Saved me hundreds of $ in arrows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ouch! Shoulder pain is no fun. I started doing Archery Strong exercises. Christian got my shoulder healed and increased my draw weight to 70+ lbs. and now I just do the $10/mo to get in shooting shape. Highly recommend him. https://www.archerystrong.com Hope you get to feeling better! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What's the new job? Same type of work? Hopefully you have some time on the weekends to get a few hunts it. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Pesticide Inspector for the state. Something totally new for me. I'll still be a weekend warrior in the woods and will try to get time off early in November. We shall see...
Gees Justin you've been through a lot. Take the advice about taking it easy shooting. Less draw weight helps too. I was down to 50 lbs two years ago with a compound. I was still getting pass throughs on deer. Just had to limit my shots to broadside. With my old age now (70) I just decided it's better for the deer and me to shoot a crossbow. I don't want to wound one if I can help it. I'm just glad I can still get around good and still hunt.
Struck out tonight boys. Had some does coming in, but they ran into some other hunters camera and freaked out. I didn't see the camera until after I setup, then decide to just stay anyway. In hind site, I should have got down and moved. One doe got to 25 yards, but never offered me a shot. Had another doe and 2 fawns come in also, but same thing, didn't offer a shot. No. Some bad thunder storm coming thru last night, wasn't sure if it would last into the morning. Then I have the kids soccer games mid late morning. Going to try and get out this afternoon. But also weather depending. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Seven days for me to start hunting! Weather finally cooled down, forecast is highs in the sixtys. Went out yesterday to make a blind at a food plot. Gave up on pop-up blinds between bears ripping them up, snow collapsing them, decided to do something else. Made a simple version of Indian teepee. cut some poles and just used brush on the sides. Made one last year at a different food plot and deer accepted it right away. Big advantage is no foreign smell with it. Made a mistake of walking in front of trail camera cutting brush and grass for shooting lanes. Showed it to wife and she said eecks looks like something from a horror show.
It's crazy how much they change. Off the list? Or going to wait til you see him in person? Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
They can be very deceiving in velvet, always have a hard time judging a deer in velvet on how big he actually is. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
First solo hunt of the year and like always it’s best described as a comedy of errors. Fingers crossed they on the mood for some acorns tonight cause they are all over the place here. Wish me luck!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums View attachment 168046 View attachment 168047

Nothing for me tonight. A storm came in fast and hard and was blowing trees down all around me. Had to take cover. Wild situation. Not sure next time I will be out. Tomorrow is rain all day, but probably not til Monday or Tuesday. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
